Does anyone else adore this TV show?
I missed it when it was first shown on UK tv, but I bought Seasons one and two on dvd and I am hooked. I am sure it is not an accurate portrayal of Alaskan life, but it is well written and utterly charming.

I remember getting hooked on Northern Exposure when they did the reruns. I agree, such a charmer! |

I adored this show when it was on during the '90s and was very sad when it went away. It had some of the cleverest writing of any TV show back then ...writing that is ESPECIALLY sorely lacking in this day of reality shows...great characters, and it was just such a great portrait of true individuals living in a truly individual place! Plus, added bonuses, I had mad crushes on Ed the filmmaker and the guy who played the radio DJ (Chris was the character's name I think. He later went on to become Aidan in "Sex in the City.") Does anybody know what ever happened to Ed? |

I was also a fan of Northern Exposure. Christina, I don't know what happened to the guy that played as Ed. I think that his first name was Darren but I can't remember his last name. Just haven't seen him in anything lately.

I don't think I ever missed an episode when Northern Exposure originally ran! It was my favorite show at the time and I grieved when it ended.
What a quirky cast of characters! I think my favorite was Marilyn, Dr. Fleischman's ever-practical office assistant.
Ed was played by Darren Burrows. He has done some minor stuff, but he was in "Amistad."
John Corbett, who played the hippie-ish DJ Chris, was also the hunk in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."
And of course, Rob Morrow is now on TV in the detective show "Numbers."
Ah... I can hear that theme song starting now............. |

ADORED the show, from the characters to the music playing on the jukebox in the Brick to the eclectic town of Cicely.
I hear Maurice's voice on commercial voice-overs all the time ... Janine Turner was on that Lifetime show, Strong Medicine (she may still be).
The chick who played Eve (the redhead) has been in tons of stuff. I believe she played the first wife of the automaker-turned-horseman in "Seabiscuit".
I agree with WW ... my favorite was the taciturn Marilyn! I loved the episode where Joel asked her what she thought about all day and she replied, "paper clips". |

I remember her "Paper clips!" line. I adored her too! I've had the good fortune of working with a couple "Marilyn" types. Nothing phases them!
