I enjoyed last winter's movie Kate and Leopold. (If you haven't seen the movie, and want to be kept in suspense, please read no further.) In the original, Meg Ryan's character Kate travels through time back to 1876 to marry her true love Leopold. I am thinking that an interesting sequel would be for Kate and Leopold to journey out west. There they could encounter all sorts of perils (in the style of LOTM.) Aristocratic Leopold and City Girl Kate would certainly encounter culture shock in the wilderness. What do you Mohicanites think about such a sequel?

I'd only watch the sequel if Kate was scalped and replaced with Cora. I know, it's a nasty thing to say, but for all that I love Meg Ryan, I thought she was miscast for the movie. When I saw the movie in the theater, she came across as extremely cynical and I never felt her character fell in love with Leopold. I felt like Meg was sick of doing one more "Sally" role and between her divorce and in-the-spotlight love life I thought she just seemed angry the whole time.

Hugh Jackman on the other hand is one fine speciman of a man and I loved him in the movie. I felt like he was trying so hard with Kate and she just kept brushing him off. Between riding down the purse thief, dancing with Kate, and sitting on the balcony, you couldn't help but fall in love with Leopold. I realize I'm being stubborn and cynical in this place, but I couldn't bring myself to rent the movie when it was released on video. Maybe I'll give it one more try. BTW, one of my favorite Jackman films is "Some like you" with him parading around shirtless with gorgeous six-pack abs!
