I was telling a co-worker about our wonderful Mohican Gathering trip this summer. This co-worker is from Wisconsin, where she and her family spent part of their summer vacation. As I was telling her about Bill Miller she IMMEDIATELY stopped me and thought I was kidding her. You see, they were staying in Trempealeau, which is on the Mississippi River, at the Trempealeau Hotel where Bill Miller was to perform. He wasn't performing while they were there, though, so she missed him. But she said that signs were up everywhere promoting his concert. Small world!

Bill Miller does get around! He is doing a conert Friday night in Columbia City, Indiana at a powwow. It's 3 or so hours from here and I would truly love to go, but don't think it's a possibility. I could hardly believe he was going to be so close to home after just seeing him in NC!

Hi everyone!
Hope all of you are fine. Just a quick note...
Bill is doing an ART show here in Tennessee if any of you are in the area!
It's called "Cowboys and Indians" in Leiper's Fork
Artist reception : Sunday, May 11 2-6 pm

Bill, along with other artists, will have several original pieces for sale as well as perform a short set of music.
Exhibit to continue thru June 30th
Touring is picking up a bit...but has been somewhat sparse....thus he's had time to paint! I had knee surgery and am finally getting back into the swing of things. May is a very busy month...
He performed an incredible show with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra last month along with the legendary Nancy Griffith....
The PBS special was finalized for early Sept. and we will let you know as details are available.

Here's the latest info on Bill's PBS special that will be filmed live :
The show is at the KiMo Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico on
Friday, September 5 at 8PM and
Saturday, September 6 at 6PM

Bill will be performing with his band and the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra along with Joanne Shenandoah. It should be an incredible 2 nights of music! Hopefully some of you can make it to be a part of the audience. The show should air sometime in winter/spring 2004.

Funny! If you remember, Theresa, while we were eating at Spirits on the River this past June, the owner, Flip, came over and suggested Joanne Shenandoah [Iroquois] as a possible Gathering musician. I saw her once or twice at the annual Hunter Mountain Pow-Wow up in New York's Catskill Mountains & she was superb!
The thought of Bill Miller's sweet voice combined with a symphony orchestra is very intriguing, to say the least ... |
