In your opinion what is the saddest part of LOTM? When Duncan gives up his life for Cora? When Uncas dies trying to save Alice? Or when Alice jumps off the cliff? Or, is there another part I haven't mentioned? Let me know what was the saddest for you.

Okay, for me the saddest part of LOTM is when Duncan gives up his life for Cora. Especially when he screams in agony. That part makes me cry every time.

The saddest for me is the very last scene...dvd version. Chingachgook's words kill me every time.

For me it is when Uncas is killed and also when Alice steps off the cliff. I love the way she was so calm and had that quiet moment. I cry every time I see that scene. The music is so heart wrenching.

i agree with the above post totally....
the music was absolutely haunting during the last scene..
and i think the the sadness starts at the point when uncas gets slashed..then he exchanges those HEART-WRENCHING looks with Alice..and the part when Alice jumps..Oh God....the way she is so listless..love it

When Duncan gives his life in the fires so that Cora can live is the most gut-wretching part of the movie to me. Up until then, Duncan is a complete butt, but he more than makes up for it with that very unselfish act. And when he cries out in agony, it almost sounds like he's calling Cora's name. Does anyone else recognize this?

What you give of yourself is priceless.
