One work, which I have recently acquired, is definately a "must have" for anyone doing a 'Highlander' impression, military or civilian of any time period up to the eve of World War One. It was originally published in 1908, and has gone through seven editions, the last being 1965. Its title and author(s) are as follows:

ADAM, Frank; "The Clans, Septs and Regiments of the Scottish Highlands"
Revision/Edition Author: Sir Thomas Innes of Learney, Lord Lyon King of Arms, K.C.V.O., Advocate

It is a wealth of information, amounting to almost seven hundred pages, and may be read cover to cover or used as a reference work. I highly recomend this book to all 'Highlander' type reenactors/living historians, it is definately worth the work searching for a copy.

I thought you were gonna say a Back Sword or Basket-hilt. I just got my new one from Discriminating General and I'm very pleased with it.

Nice broadsword, Hawk. Now, all we have to do is get you into a belted plaid or kilt...
