I found a different perspective of the massacre at Fort William Henry when searching Project Gutenberg.

http://www.ibiblio.org/gutenberg/etext04/cca1010.txt

It shows what Montcalm had to put up with from the civilian government of New France and how he overcame everything to succeed in his profession. It shows a different view of what went wrong that bloody day at Ft. William Henry and after explaining the opposing view of what went wrong George M. Wrong and H. H. Langton proceed to write:

"Still, a massacre is a massacre; all sorts of evil are sure to come of it; and this one was no exception to the rule."
