For those of you interested in historical fiction, I found a new paperback novel set during the French and Indian War. It is called "War Path" by Kerry Newcomb. Published by St. Martin's Paperbacks in May 2003, price $6.50. There just aren't that many novels set in this era so I thought I would mention it. I have also recently discovered the wonderful soundtrack to the History Channel series on the F&I war, "Frontier". It was composed by David Arkenstone. If you like the soundtrack to Last of the Mohicans, you will definitely like this CD as well ! I found my copy on eBay; not sure if it is still available in stores

The existence of flamethrowers is proof that someone, somewhere, said to himself, "I want to set those people over there on fire, but I don't feel like walking over there to do it."
"Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist."

I just came across a historical novel set during the French and Indian War. The novel is entitled Bloody Circles of War and was just published according to the website at Amazon in sept 2002. I recently purchased it and I loved it! Told beautifully and set in Western Pennsylvania it is a book not to pass up. Look for it at amazon.com. The author is Jason Cherry. Great book! |

I know Jason, from his reenacting with Trent's Company here in Southwest Pennsylvania. He is a avid historian, good storyteller and all around great guy. If you get to some of the events here in the SWPA, where Trent's Coy. is at, you will find Jason more than willing to personalize your copy. I got my copy at Washington County Frontier Days this year.
