Rich...
I voted half day minus souvenir. However, I also think that we should have breakfast there at the park (keeps from having to move people, that takes time) but eliminating their bagged lunch. If doing the French Broad River Mussle Loading that day, may I suggest maybe doing a potluck, or maybe catered event there instead. If I am not mistaken. I believe that Ann mentioned the French Broads (as Bill so lovinly calls them) Said they could help with this, Maybe they would know someone that could do a barbacue of sorts.. Just a thought....

Maybe the French Broad should be a whole day. If someone does the shoot, the knife and tomahawk throw, and the race, plus the drive there, most of a day will be gone. And it takes a while to properly clean a flintlock after the event is over. This year there was talk of a Woods Walk, even a Seneca Run. Both those would be great additions. You just gotta work around the cows. It's amazing how they just seem to ignore us. Cindy observed that in westerns, firing a gun will stampede the cattle. Not these cattle. Of course these are mountain cows, evident by the fact that two of their legs are shorter that the other so they can stand on the side of the hill.

Rich and all, I voted half day minus the #@*& souvenir (haha.) Nothing against Olde Rock cafe, it's actually kinda cute and the food is fine, but parking is extremely limited. I like the Pavilion breakfast in that it seemed to work very well for handing out car flags, welcome packets, and for announcements . Stephanie

Hi Rich,
I voted for the half day MINUS the souvenir. However, I'd also like to axe the lunch. Most people didn't get a chance to eat their's and it can be kinda PITB toting it around the cliffs.
BTW, I think these polls are a great idea. They should go a long way in helping you decide a venue and schedule for future Gatherings.
Thanks, Marc
