| It wasn't too long ago that the four "Tarleton" flags, including 3 taken at the Waxhaws was sold for 17 million. The state of SC was authorized to go 6 million for the three, but they weren't even close. |

| The one flag that was not from the Waxhaws was from New England, I think, and is the only known example of an original pine tree flag in existance. All the flags are in good condition and were owned by a Tarleton descendent. The bidder was, of course, anonymous. So another piece of history disappears again. |
