Every year the Fort has a "Winter Weekend" in mid-Feburay - - not this year. - Small attendence, but a great time with some Abernaki from Vermont, Rhode Island & often Maine. - For me it's a four hour drive round trip. - I showed up looking forward to "things" and found a note on their door. ("They" usually send e-mail before events - probably forgot this one.)
.
"Please accept our apologies. The Winter Weekend has been postponed until March 15-16"
.
That's certainly not mid-winter here - "the board visited" another location, for some reason. - Ever since they eliminated the Directors position & decided that the board would run everything - it's been in a nosedive.

That's a shame. I haven't seen anything from the Pequawket Alliance about the event and I guess that is why. Are you going back in March?

Bingo - Just received this from "the board" - which is likely why there was no e-mail in February. - they ever intended to have the traditional "Winter Weekend" in February. Looks like the Abernaki were geat at making Maple Syrup. - Name change ahead - "NH Maple Weekeb"???

Sounds like this might be a good event. Have you heard anything from it?
