I guess you could say that here in Columbia we never get a white Christmas, maybe 2 weeks or 1 week before christmas we get a flurry but that is the last of it. We always, always used to get bunches and piles of snow,. But not anymore which is sad because when you think of christmas you think of snow, and you say to yourself theres no snow here. Maybe it is because Missouri is in the middle of the United Sates, or it could be because the iceburgs are melting in Alaska but I guess we will never know. So if you guys want to you can take big bulldosers and scoop up all of the snow in your yard or in your drive way that you can't stand anymore and bring it to columbia. hehhehheh. Wishing everybody a happy Christmas a be happy you have snow for me. Bye Bye mohicanwarrior

Well, wish I could scoop up some snow for you, but oddly enough we don't have very much here either! In Ottawa, we are usually buried under the stuff by now, but this year we've had a few really cold days, then some unusually warm weather with rain. But you never know what can happen!

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon! We got approximately an inch and a half this evening, and it's still snowing! I guess it will be a white christmas after all!

Hey, Mohicanwarrior... Have you got snow now? It's Christmas Eve and we have a big storm coming in a couple of hours here in Binghamton, New York... I think it is the one that you are getting now. Woo Hoo! I'm just a big kid at heart; I really love it, especially at Christmas. It makes an imperfect world look perfectly beautiful! Merry Christmas!

Fourteen inches of snow is alot! The weather network here says that northern New York state got about 2 feet of snow! The storm is moving towards the maritime provinces .... I guess you guys sent the snow up to us for a change!!!

Brenda, it looks like you guys back East were much luckier than us here in Western Canada.. We did not have any snow at all ( and there is none in the forecast either) but thanks to some frost the ground was at least a little white..However, things a re a bit brown now..we need snow here in Alberta as we had drought conditions already last year!!!

Bea, we are praying here that the new year will see an end to the drought that you folks are suffering in the west. It's unbelievable that it has lasted so long! The weather has been really odd this year, we had a rather dry summer as well (although not nearly as dry as what you've had). Fortunately the Fall brought some relief.

MohicanWarrior, I am really happy that you got snow for Christmas!

Thanks, Brenda! Yes, it is terrible that the drought has lasted so long. The farmers were in dire straits and had to put some of their livestock down as they couldn't feed them.
Today i heard that Calgary received a dusting of snow and the Jasper/Banff is really getting LOTS of the white stuff. However here in the Edmonton area we haven'trecieved no moisture whatsoever. The some goes for Northern Alberta.Hopefully it will be our turn soon..
