It's finally here! Time for the Gathering to start today when we all meet at Biltmore Estate to visit the scene of the burial ground, parts of Albany, and of course that beautiful bridge.
But some of us started "gathering" yesterday, when Tammy and I began setting up Ariel's Cabin & raffle room at the hotel. Thanks, Tammy! Dances With Beagles came by to help, and I also got to meet new Gatherers Woody & Joan, and Ariel, Lori, & Kyle came by as well. What nice folks, it reminded me of why we do this!
Woody let me know that some sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway were closed not far from where we usually do sunrise, so we'll have to figure out an alternate route. <sigh>
Gotta run... it's a cool 47 degrees in the mountains this morning and a beautiful forecast for the day ahead. I wish you all could be with us!

I don't know if there is a thread to wish "good luck" to everyone but I'll post it here. Everyone who is going to the "gathering", have fun!!! I do wish I could be there but not this time around. Everyone be safe traveling and take care!

Hi Steph and all,
I almost have the car packed and as soon as I get my gang actually out of the door, we will be on our way. I hate that we missed Biltmore, but we will see y'all tonight at Spirits on the River.

| Ahhh...The Gathering. You guys have a wonderful time. We would love to be there. Some of my best memories are in Mohicanland with Mohicanlanders. I will wear all the former t-shirts this week and watch the movie, too! Everyone be safe and enjoy the trail. |

Another Gatherer hitting the road! I'm off to pick up Elizabeth, a gathering virgin  , in Raleigh then we will be h*ll bent for leather to try and make SOTR tonight.
I hate I wasn't able to post anything ab out a Gathering gadget, but I was testing a new and improved GLAMMY CHAMOIS (glammy shammy) called the ShamWOW (as seen on TV), but was not impressed with it for cooling purposes, so the original Glammy CHamois (alias The Absorber as found in the automotive section at Walmart) will be there ready to whisk away any dew from a few brows. We'll give the ShamWOW a try and report back for next time!
Will try to post updates along the way...

Well, we had every intention of making the Gathering this year  , but because of earlier "stuff" with the neighbors  that I've talked about before, we have to pay lawyers instead. 
I wish everyone a happy, safe and amazing Gathering.  I can't tell you how much I wish we could be there to see everyone old and new.
