You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Now there you go again, Theresa ... stirring up those memories again!!!
That song - and line - of course, is where the radical underground group, The Weathermen, derived their name. They were a violent offshoot of the more moderate SDS [Students for a Democratic Society]. Such a wonderful, well-intentioned, name for a bunch of radicals bent on the overthrow of the government! I remember a small group of representatives making a enlistment plea at my High School - probably around 1968. Yes, at the school's invite! The flamboyant characters speaking to us had quite an impact on an impressionable youth - ME!
Today, is Election Day here in the U.S. [I'm writing this the day after your post, Theresa!] and I get to go to the polls and try to right some of the wrongs we're still living with from those days ... not that everything was bad, mind you, but ...

Goin' off to vote myownself, Rich. Had no idea the story behind that song---line. I take it as meaning that sometimes when things are so evident we don't need a slap in the face to point it out to us. I've always been a little sheltered. Love this country!!...and it's leader!
