Tried to send a Newsletter yesterday, but it failed for some odd reason. Best I can do is post it here now:
The Mohican Board! [Bumppo's Redux!] Newsletter for 7/3/2004:
Hi All - The 2004 Great Mohican Gathering was a success and is in the books! Seems, as usual, every one had a great time!
Those who were there, more pics & accounts welcomed! For the rest, hopefully, we'll make some progress on a web page today ... On the Trail of the Last of the Mohicans ... the Expanded Edition is on sale now. http://www.mohicanpress.com/authors_expanded_edition.html PURCHASE NOW!
And, do participate in our Mohican Board Forum!
Happy 4th to you all!
Still working on that Gathering pictorial ... lots more to do [Gathering], but how's this for a shot of one of our favorite Mohicanlanders????
Movie Night ... Theresa & Russell Means
Jo, of the Sweetser 4, has been having computer woes for the longest time - limiting her visits here. Now, it's finally in the shop, hopefully to be fixed once & for all [does that ever really happen with computers?] ... she's now a Moderator, as well.
Do give a thought or two to the events of 1776 on this American Independence Day - between the hot dogs & hamburgers, I mean!
Happy Trails! Rich

Amen to that, Sachem Rich! Might I also add that a thought or two should be reserved for those brave young American Warriors, who even on this holiday are fighting to help another people be free.

Great picture Theresa!!
I really got into the spirit this year. My in laws live in a very small community and we all celebrated by having a parade. It was one of those small town parades where there are more kids and old folks and everyone in between marching in the parade than there were spectators. The parade started at the Baptist church and ended at "The Feed Lot" around the corner. Patriotic music was playing and the prize for the best "float" went to a woman who had dressed her baby goats with patriotic hats and bandanas! You got to see the parade a second time as everyone walked and rode back to the church to get to their cars. A great day! |

It sounds like you had quite the patriotic day, Carter! It rained all day here in New York, and we heard that the fireworks show was postponed till tomorrow. Then about an hour ago we came to find out that the show WASN'T cancelled... oh well. There's always next year. Our celebration is tomorrow, anyways. The weather might be lil' bit better!
