Nope! That was Chris Boone!
Even this event went off pretty much without a hitch - soaked girls aside! The weather cleared & the Hildebrands did their lovely performance out there on the deck. Marvelous evening! |

Check out these excellent links - http://www.chimney-rock.com/ http://www.rutherfordtourism.com/links.php http://www.rutherfordtourism.com/dining.php
Did you know that the Geneva Motel's address is Lake Lure? And one of my favorite restaurant address is 300 Chimney Rock Road, but it's in Rutherfordton... funny eh? Scoggin's Seafood & Steak House, Inc. - Rutherfordton 300 Chimney Rock Rd.828-287-3167 I've been there twice and both times it was excellent. If anyone would like to try it out, I'm willing to go! It's 16 miles away but it's worth the ride. Here's the directions. It's right off the main road on the left hand side. Easy to find.

What a fun picture! Especially since I wasn't in it. I WAS there though~not one of the most fun horseback rides I've taken, but very memorable, as was the whole evening. Fortunately for Jayne and I, we had already planned a trip back to the motel, so we were able to have dry clothes for the rest of the evening. I think Donna's tip about always having dry clothes in your car is a good one. After consulting with a couple of fellow Gatherers and a relative who spent a summer on a river, I have a thought to add. Please consider tipping your rafting guide. The ones we had last Gathering worked their tails off to try to keep us safe (notice I said TRIED, Cherie) and I don't think they make a whole lot at that job.
