Poor Jo ... our long-time good friend ...
She, and her sisters, lost their Mom just 6 months ago. Now, it would appear, it's Dad's turn. He has brain cancer & is doing extremely poorly. It is not expected that he will make it much past the weekend. It would seem that he is ready to rejoin his wife.
I feel much sadness for the loss this close knit family is experiencing. Please send Jo, Mary, Kathy, & Karen your prayers!

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that! I will certainly say a prayer for Jo and her family and hope that the Lord will provide all of them with the strength to go through another horrible ordeal!
Jo, I got your message and I'll try to respond on the weekend! God bless!

Oh Man, I know just before Gathering time he was diagnosed with this and was given maybe six months, I think. This is so sudden and I know hard for four of the most loving sisters one would ever chance to run into in this life. Jo, my love and prayers go out to you and Mary, and Karen, and Kathy! I'm so sorry to hear things have taken such a quick turn for the worse!
Love you guys! Diana S.

Jo,
I know that we have never met but I just want to say that I am so sorry to hear about your father. It must be especially hard to be facing such a thing, so soon after the loss of your mother. I have been in that place where you & your sisters are now & it's not a pleasant one.
There are some similarities between us that makes me feel your pain even more: My 3 sisters & I lost our mother to a brain tumor just over 8 years ago. The four of us have always been close & that closeness helped us to make it through that very sad & painful time. I hope that the closeness between you & your sisters will give you added strength as you now face the loss of your father.
Sadly, this past April, my baby sister passed away at the relatively young age of 41, after a brave four-month battle with lung cancer. We all miss her very much but again, having each other to lean on helped us to make it through.
For what it's worth, just know that there are a lot of people in Mohicanland who love all of you very much & they are all praying for you, too.
Peace, love & light,
Diane B.

I am so sorry to hear that. They have my heartfelt sympathy. I still have my mother but lost my father years ago.
I remember the lighthearted and happy way the sweetsters ascended those stairs to their motel room leading Wes Studi before them. May their father ascend to heaven in the same way led by the Son of God.

We are so sorry to hear this news. Losing loved ones is never easy even when we know their suffering is ended. Please let God's arms surround you and hold you during this time and receive comfort from Him. Our prayers are with you girls. God bless.

Jo's Father did pass away. As Jo says:
quote: Our dad died on Saturday at home with all of his four daughters sitting there yakking away.
Same room, at home, 6 months and a day after their Mom.
Love to the Sweetsers, and may your Dad rest in Peace! |

I feared this would be the news when I saw you had placed another post to the topic, Rich. I am so saddened by this. Even expecting this, it still breaks my heart. God bless the Sweetsers and their families. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
