The best shot of Wes I've ever seen! From our Tattoo Tantalizers Gallery!

Good morning, folks!

During this past week it was mentioned in one of the threads something about "staying on topic." Let me comment on that ...

This Board has always been fairly loose. Now with the Snitz format, it does have a lot more structure. Still, we're not too finicky about that. Conversation will drift. That said, it certainly does make it a lot easier to find stuff [and don't forget about the Search link up top!] if you make an attempt to somewhat stick to the topic at hand. More or less, each forum might have a different "strictness" in that regard depending on who the Moderator[s] might be. They've got a bit of freedom! Then there's the "Chit-Chat" forum where pretty much everything goes and you can do just that ... chit-chat! So, that's it for that!

And thanks, Moderators, for continuing to help out around here!

New on the Board: We added two new formatting buttons to the posting screen that might make life easier for you, or some of you ... definitely for me! This button allows you to quickly & more easily link to another topic on the board in your post. For example, by clicking on that icon right now, I can link to a thread I might want you to read. Like so: Gathering VI Budget Plan & Enticements!. Voilà! When you click on that icon, a window pops up with all the topics [default is within the past 2 months, but you can change that] - click on one & the window closes & the URL is then set up in your post! This one does the same, only it creates a link to a member's profile for you. Like this: richfed. So, there you go!

New on the Site: Ah! The Fourth installment of the Tattoo Tantalizers is up & ready for viewing. Another good one, and as I've mentioned, Rick is a very accomplished teaser ... the next one promises to be a real crowd-pleaser! This series is an excellent addition to the Web Site! Thank you, Rick!

Upcoming! Not sure exactly when ...

A fairly long while ago, a fellow named John Whitesel contacted us. He was wanting to create some 3D animations of the siege of Fort William Henry in 1757 and was looking for some experts to help him with details. He sent along some samples of his work, so I knew that he was serious. I referred him to some people I thought could help, and apparently he & Tim Cordell [sorry, couldn't resist using the new toy!] hit it off pretty well!!! With Tim's expertise & John's artistic talents ... well ... John contacted me this past week & says an exploration of the interior fort is just about ready. When it is, it'll be up on the site. Here is a still image, as a teaser:

Pretty darn good, I'd say!

Active Topics: If you haven't yet discovered it's usefulness, try the Active Topics link which can be found up in the upper right-hand corner of virtually every Board page! It'll make your life - or browsing this Board, anyway - much easier!

And finally, a personal note:

A Sophia Update: Today, she is 11 months old! Almost a year has passed and it is really hard to believe, looking at her today, what all she went through. She is a remarkable little lady, so very full of joy & love, unlike anything, or body, I ha

Thanks for the 4th installment, Rick! I am really enjoying both the photos and your stories.

The 3D animation of the Fort sounds intriguing. Can't wait for that!

OK....it's been brought to my attention that I welcomed Jim Pell to this Board telling him that I was a fellow Alabamian and inquired to his whereabouts....Go ahead and laugh if you haven't already. I misread Katie's post and thought Jim Pell signed it...DUH!!

BUT......I did find out that Carter is only a couple of hours from me down Highway 280. Hello Carter! I'm in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Thanks, Rich. I could blame all the hoopla that's gone on here in the state lately...Ten Commandments in the Court House, a billion dollar plus tax vote that was voted down yesterday with a big "HELL NO!"....heck, 'bout the only thing that seems to be going right is watching Mike Shula on the sidelines...

Oh no, an Alabama fan! I think I'll go hide somewhere seeing as I'm an Auburn fan. Right now I'm on my knees everyday praying we don't lose to Vanderbuilt this weekend! LOL Do you go to the games? Will I see you in Auburn for the AL/AU game?

It's great to meet fellow Alabamians on the board! Incidently my mother and sister went to Alabama and my Dad and I went to Auburn. We were a house divided! LOL Thanksgiving was always interesting.

Hey Carter! This is so cool and has nothing to do with this thread, so in order not to annoy those here, what say we PM or email each other on the football and other Alabama stuff? One question...where in Birmingham did you live?

Oh, btw, I really like Columbus. We've been there several times when our daughter was playing collegiate softball for tournaments and of course, we came to the Olympics.

One more thing...

I heard that, Carter and I know exactly what you're talking about. Roll Tide, anyway!

Good luck tomorrow with your Tigers. We're driving to Huntsville and will probably get in all their traffic up I-65.

Dillon, you're not the only Gator amongst us. Stan Golden is from the Swamp, too.

Carter, where exactly around the Birmingham area did you live?

Tee hee! Sorry, when I hear "Roll Tide" I get the imagine of Mike Price in my head. Shula's doing a great job!

I might not be smiling by tomorrow afternoon once the "Commode Doors" get through with us, might as well smile now. Hey, have a safe trip to Huntsville! I was a "Brookie" growing up. ;-) Did you get my email?
