Jim, your pride in your Dad and his accomplishments warms my heart!

*************************

I have many soldiers in my background, most of whom survived their particular wars. However, I would just like to mention a couple here:

William McCrillis, Dearborn's Company, Gen. Stark's Brigade. Died at the Battle of Bunker Hill (Breed's Hill), June 1777. His name is engraved on the monument there. He was my 4th Great-grandfather.

Pvt. John McFarlin, 8th NY Cavalry Volunteers (The Rochester Regiment). Died on May 27, 1862 at the Battle of Winchester, VA, age 22. He was my 3rd Great-Uncle.

**************************

But the one I am most proud of:

Lt. Merle Gilb, Army Corps of Engineers, WW II 1941-1945, Still living. My father.

God Bless them all!

Oooops!! Typo!! That should be June 1775. Guess I am still reliving the 225th celebrations of 1777.
