Posted - June 21 2025 : 5:17:55 PM Next year, all year, will be the 250th Birthday of our wonderful Country, the United States of America! There figure to be quite a few events during the year devoted to celebrating our storied past and founding.
A good place to start looking for events near you - or not near you (turn a few into a vacation) - The Liberty Trail
To donate to the preservation of America's battlefields and historic sites, a good place to visit is American Battlefield Trust
You can track events in our Nation's Capitol (and thank God we have a Patriot in the White House for this) at DC Events Commemorating Our Semiquincentennial Birthday
If anyone finds any particularly interesting events, feel free to add links here.
Happy Birthday, America!

Posted - June 27 2025 : 09:50:31 AM This year is the 249th of the event and they seem to be going all out. So with next year being the 250th I feel like they will pull out all the stops and go for something really big. I hope so. Guess we will see. |

Posted - June 26 2025 : 10:42:55 AM The 28th Fitz ... . https://www.southcarolinaexplorer.com/carolina-day-june-28/ . Carolina Day is commemorated every year on June 28.
This is the anniversary of the date of the Battle of Sullivan’s Island, when an outgunned group of South Carolinians in a half finished fort, defeated a British fleet.
It was one of the first significant engagements and patriot victories of what became South Carolina’s and the United States’s War for Independence.
In addition to affirming South Carolina’s willingness to fight for its independence, the battle’s legacy helped establish some of the state’s most enduring symbols: its nickname as the Palmetto State and the design of the state flag.
Hence why it’s celebrated as Carolina Day! |

Posted - June 24 2025 : 08:17:34 AM I saw that last weekend was the 250th anniversary of Bunker Hill (Breeds Hill). It was held at Gloucester because Boston is not quite suitable. It looked like a good event, but Boston is a little out of my range. I think that Carolina Day at Charleston is coming up, maybe on June 28? |
