Posted - June 25 2002 : 06:20:04 AM For ddlfan, and everyone else, as well ...
Those of you at Gathering I, in 1998, remember Barbara & Scottie Willis [listed in the credits under "Hair"] appearing at the movie theater with photo albums chock full of pictures taken during their work with the production end of LOTM. Since that time, Barbara has passed away. Before she died, Scottie told me, she asked him to go to this year's Mohican Gathering to show, and share, the pics ... he did!
Here's one of good old Hawkeye he gave to Diane B. We hope to have many more posted elsewhere on the site in the not too distant future! Enjoy!:

Posted - August 06 2002 : 5:39:04 PM I haven't been around for a while because I'm trying to furnish a condo and prepare for vacation...but...could I get a copy of the DDL photo? Oh please...it would fit so well on my wall at work just above a small copy of the "First American hero" poster and above the big honking poster of Aragorn...

I was the lucky recipient of a great action shot of Magua thanks to Scotty's generosity. I have already had copies made for Cherie and Stephanie. Karen! I received my Magua photo in the mail yesterday. Thank you so much. I think I'll run on down to the local Walmart, enlarge it, frame it, and hang it on my wall. I will certainly enjoy sharing it's story with my friends here. Thanks again. BTW....any luck at the bookstore?

Posted - July 31 2002 : 3:09:31 PM Stephanie! I'm glad you got the photo ok and that you like it. Rich got his too despite the fact that I addressed it to Marion, INDIANA! Yes, how do we explain these things to nonMohicanlanders? I think the girl at the photo place thought I was a little nuts even though she recognized the shot immediately as being from LOTM! Enjoy enjoy! I still have extras if anyone else would like one~just let me know.

Posted - July 26 2002 : 3:03:10 PM Diane, I hope I'm not too late to get in on this "photo op"!! I just haven't had too much time lately to spend perusing the board. I was the lucky recipient of a great action shot of Magua thanks to Scotty's generosity. I have already had copies made for Cherie and Stephanie. If anyone else would like to have one of them please just let me know and I'll gladly get more copies made. Let me know what I need to do to get a copy of my favorite DDL pic, Diane. Thanks!!

Posted - July 16 2002 : 11:41:13 AM As Rich mentioned, I was the lucky recipient of this to-die-for picture of DDL. When Mr. Willis gave it to me, I couldn't believe my great good luck & I immediately told everyone sitting close by that I planned to have reprints made, so that everyone who wanted to could "share" this picture.
Since my return home from the Gathering, I have been doing a little checking around, to see where I could get the best "deal" on having this done. I have found that it will cost me about $5.00 to have a negative and one print done and after that, the cost of the prints will only be about fifty cents, so no big deal on cost. What I do need to know is, how many of you out there in Mohicanland would like to have a copy of this picture? I already know that Teri & Theresa & Yogi's "mom" and Lady Ann Colby are anxiously awaiting copies...any others???

Posted - July 13 2002 : 8:35:10 PM Ok. I've been all over the place trying to figure out where to post my little bit of info. Since this is where the great DDL pic is, I'll put it here. While in the drug store the other day I happened to see an issue of People Magazine's Top 100 Actors of Our Time. I had to get out my glasses and leaf through the magazine until I verified that they had indeed included Mr. DDL himself. He was there, although I didn't catch the page number and didn't buy the magazine~yet! They did save themselves from receiving an irate letter if he hadn't been included. Their picture of him was ok, but not as good as the one Rich has posted here~it's one of my favorites, Rich! Just thought someone else might be interested in this magazine. Karen W

Posted - July 01 2002 : 12:56:12 PM Boy, I knew that was comin' Theresa!!! I must say that was QUITE the photo-op! Scottie truly had the ultimate LOTM collection. I am so glad he was able to spend time with us. What a nice fellow! I got some good shots of him at Louise's Sunday morning with hoards of Mohicanites pouring through his albums and framed photos.
Sorry to hear about your ankle, Susan. We'll definitely expect to see more of you next year! It was good to see and talk with you that little bit Thursday morning!! Be sure and take care of yourself. If I had forgotten I wasn't a spring chicken anymore, this Gathering SURE drove that reality home and will call for much more preconditioning for next time!!!

Sounds like we have the same taste in photos, Colonial Woman. Okay, Rich, that's two votes for that particular photo to be scanned and sent our way should you get those photo albums. Thanks!

Posted - June 30 2002 : 6:02:45 PM Barbara is gone? Oh, I'm so sorry. I'll never forget standing in the parking lot looking at her photos, especially that one of DDL stretched out on the mud clay at Lake James doing Hawkeye's version of sunbathing! I do think working for the movie was one of the highlights of her life; at least she gave me that impression. I am glad she lived to have that experience and become a part of ours.

Posted - June 25 2002 : 09:44:13 AM WOW!!! What a pleasant thing to wake up to this morning. Thanks for posting this here and I look forward to the upcoming "gallery" of pics. Now, I don't know if you're taking requests...BUT...there was a nice little photo of Hawkeye sunning on the beach of Lake James that I would love to see included in the gallery...book #4... It was so nice to meet Scottie and hear some of his stories. What a generous man!
Diane, I hope you're home safe and enjoying your photo. I'm checking my mailbox everyday! Thanks!
