ET's (Entertainment Tonight) segment on Dirty Dancing mentioned something about the 600 Club. These were the die hard fans that have watched the movie at least 600 times. Off the top of my head, some comparable movies that could match this were Titanic, Star Wars & Rocky Horror Picture show. Was wondering what kinda personal high numbers we would have for the LOTM movie Mohicanite fanatics?!?

Have personally only watched The LOTM movie least twenty (20) times and counting ... (the last 3 times on the big screen during the Gatherings) and the rest on TV / DVD / VHS. Can honestly say that I have listened to the sound track at least 600 times (I suspect much to the dismay of my wife) since it is placed many times on the repeat mode on both our home & car CD players.

And the winner would be...

Rydergrl,

You can try help.com. This is a site that eBay had bought out. Pretty novel concept buying items at 50% of the retail price. Half was able to re-name a city (Halfway, Oregan) to "Half.com" with generous contributions like Economic plans, Computers for the school system, and such... As of today -

http://half.ebay.com/search/search.jsp?nthTime=1&product=videos&keyword=mohicans

The most inexpensive listed a used LOTM DVD for $7.49 & Shipping of $2.49. Not a bad delivered price for less than $10.

This is one of my biggest fears, that I will wear out the video and not be able to replace it. Especially in view of recent revelations, that the copies sold in stores today are "The Director's Cut" and not the original theatrical version. Incidentally, before I became a true fan, I was totally disappointed that my copy was in widescreen and not full-screen. The next time I have the opportunity, I'm going to check out the flea markets and pawn shops. It's amazing some of the stuff you can pick up at these places.

Hi, All,

I don't know how many times I've watched LOTM...not enough, that's for sure !

I got lucky when I bought the VHS of the theatrical version. The box said it was full-screen but when I watched the tape, it was wide-screen format. Yay!!!

I admit I've been spoiled by the DVD format. Anyone know if the theatrical version will ever be released on disc? I'm hoping so!

As for LOTM's music, I have both soundtracks. I listen to them often, to the point where I 'see' the movie in my head as each track plays. Randy Edelman's other film scores ('Dragonheart' and 'Gettysburg')have that effect on me...

It's now official - my stereo system does not recognize my LOTM audio CD. I can still listen to it on the computer though the quality does not sound as good (lousy speakers). Where should I direct my complaint?

Stay warm all!

It's difficult NOW to find the widescreen version. I haven't found a store yet that has it; just the full screen version. I finally found a copy on half.com; but I had to ask some sellers to make sure it was the widescreen version - some listed them saying they were widescreen, but they were full.

I sometimes watch it when it's on TV (suffering through the commercial breaks) to save wear and tear on video copy. I'm terrified that some day I will not be able to replace it!

Oh, good question! I have no idea how many times I have watched the film but I am sure it is way over 200 times. I went through a phase of watching it every day before I went to bed, a good tip for sweet dreams. The soundtrack has been listened to even more, I have been through 3 cassettes and onto my second CD!!!

I also make a point of watching when it comes on TV, my family dont seem to understand why I insist on watching it on TV when I have the video and dvd but if they put it on TV then I feel I should support it.

Theresa - on watching it when it's on TV - me too! LOL Do you get the FX channel? I've noticed, that while they edit for time, they seem to have smooshed the theater and dvd versions together. It has both stuff they took out of the dvd AND the stuff they added.

I can, for the most part, say the lines right along with the movie. LOL My French, Huron and Mohawk aren't as perfected.

My goodness... I can see that I have some major catching up to do! I have probably watched the video only about 10 times. Guess that's why I do not, yet, have the whole script memorized!

As for the soundtrack, I like to put it into my Walkman when I am doing my exercise-walking around our local park... and imagine that the beautiful big trees and the river are really in the Wilderness, and that if I turn and look over my shoulder, I may see a Huron lurking in the underbrush...

I couldn't even begin to know the number of times I've watched LOTM...usually everytime it's aired on tv even though I have the video (talk about a fanatic!). Probably pushing at least 50 or 60...maybe more...lost count. The soundtrack, like Vincent and Daire, is played over and over.

ACK People have watched Dirty Dancing 600 times?? Once or twice was enough for me.

I've lost track of how many times I've watched LOTM, probably somewhere around the 50+ mark between tv/vhs/dvd...the soundtrack, probably around 600 times for me too LOL. It goes on every car trip I take and has near permanent resident status in my stereo.
