Posted - August 22 2010 : 12:14:30 PM I had read a little about plans to start an outdoor drama in Lake George. I had hoped to see it, but I missed it this year. I just found the website http://www.lastofthemohicansoutdoordrama.org/Home_Page.html
I was wondering if any of you had the chance to see it? I read that they're looking for participants for next year's performances. Here's a chance for anyone who'd like to act, or be an extra. They're hoping to build it up similar to "Unto These Hills" in Cherokee. They've received lots of grants. Check out the website... Donna |

Posted - July 15 2011 : 11:33:00 AM If you followed the link in this notice to The Wild West Ranch, you will see it's NOT going to be at Ft. William Henry ( where it belongs! ) as last year, but at this crappy-looking and totally out-of-place tourist trap instead. This is EXACTLY the sort of "attraction" I despise most - a supposedly "historical" mish-mosh that totally misrepresents the history of a place that obviously has PLENTY of its own authentic and relevant history. This place is redolent of all the garbage like the "amusement parks", waterslides, etc. located in the general area south of Lake George Villiage and nearer Glens Falls. I'd avoid this production like the plague just because of its location! |

I might try checking it out in August.

I get that all the time around here, as 'Steese' is a common name! |

Posted - August 23 2010 : 7:16:49 PM I see from the cast of characters they won't be doing the Michael Mann script. |

Posted - August 23 2010 : 6:05:31 PM Wow! I really had to peer closely at my monitor as I was reading the names of the cast members on that website!
Sagamore: Michael Steese
Of course, you know what my eyes told me I saw...

Posted - August 23 2010 : 11:02:02 AM That's strange - when I visited Lake George last fall in the last week of October ( admittedly well after the short "run" of this and at the very end of tourist season ) I didn't see ANYTHING about it, even at Fort William Henry or aboard the Mohican. Despite this professional-looking website, the production's obviously still in its formative state. Hopefully they can make something of it; it's certainly a beautiful location for such a venture.
