Posted - December 20 2002 : 11:51:46 AM I'm at Tri-North right now.
I will be going to BHSN next year, though! I can't wait! My orchestra class has had a few concerts there, and I think North is an absolutely wonderful school!
(Plus, this guy I have a crush on is a freshman @ BHSN right now.. ) |

You know, I had a feeling that you did. Love the place, still do - lived there all my life. So what school are you going to? I'm a BHSN alumni. Should scout out the web links on this site - they have the Irish Lion. caitlin

Posted - December 17 2002 : 7:13:55 PM Hello Curious Student, I'm from Bloomington, Indiana and was living there when I went to my first Gatherings. I know a couple of other Gatherers from Indiana as well (Indianapolis, Bloomington and Nashville). It can be done! It's only a day drive. caitlin |

Posted - December 16 2002 : 7:00:00 PM OOOO-o-o-! How could I ever forget Nathan Whitney? And he was in the room next to us what I knocked up before going to the sunrise (hey Phil!). AND, one of my rafting partners! What a delight that family is and those who came with them. What a HOOT!! Thanks for reminding me of all that fun! Now you SYMT's...you might want to consider that...please consider that.

Posted - December 16 2002 : 5:42:40 PM Theresa, Yes, yes, the scenery is scrumptious, the friendships forged- a treasure forever, mountains of fun and frolic with he finest folks around. BUT - you forgot to point out to these Sweet Young Mohican Things (SYMT's) one very important feature of Mohican Gatherings:
NATHAN WHITNEY
Surely, they have overlooked that aspect on the gathering pages! And besides, the little James Dean look-a-like brings his whole family AND the family friends all the way from New York.
Indiana, Schmindiana!!!

Posted - December 16 2002 : 4:37:27 PM Well, Curious, I understand about possibly not being able to attend. There are a lot of logistics involved. I will tell you, though, that we have some that trek to the Gatherings that come from Indiana. Tennessee borders N.C., so perhaps sometime you could venture over. I'm in Alabama.

Posted - December 16 2002 : 3:27:57 PM Indiana. (Pitiful that I can't come, isn't it? )
But, the farthest place I've ever been to with my parents is Tennessee! Which was where I was born! lol |

Posted - December 15 2002 : 2:57:45 PM That is very true, Theresa, but that's not all that I mentioned.
I also said I don't live near North Carolina. My parents wouldn't be willing to make the trip.
Oh well.. I'll be there in spirit! |

Posted - December 14 2002 : 11:18:44 PM Hey Curious, Look down at the bottom of this page and click where it says Mohican Gatherings. Basically, it's a group of people for all over...literally...who have joined together for the past five years in June in and around the Asheville, North Carolina area. This, if you don't know, is the location of the movie. We visit various location sites, we have enjoyed period music, Native American music, good food, the movie on the big screen, special guests (Soldier #2, Eric Schweig, Wes Studi) bought and exchanged things Mohican...I could go on and on. Please anyone else jump in and add to this. I suppose, for me at least, the most enjoyable thing besides meeting some of the most wonderful and interesting people, is going to the different location sites and walking in the footsteps of Hawkeye, Cora, Uncas, Chingachgook, Alice, Duncan, etc. All of this because we so love this movie. Won't you consider joining us...please consider that. You won't be sorry.
