Posted - July 07 2008 : 4:01:37 PM In the script it reads: UNCAS "Mowhawk field we saw was five mile long on the river. Chief Joseph Brandt's field."
In Allan Eckert's "Wilderness Empire" he has Molly Brant ( sister to Joseph ) say: "I am the grand-daughter of Chief Sagayeanquarashtow - he who was known to the English as Chief Brant. My father is Aroghyidecker, also known as ... Chief Nichus Brant."
It has previously been discussed somewhere on the site that the use of "Chief Joseph Brandt" in the script is merely an example of Hollywood name-dropping; and IS likely another example of a deliberate error, never mind the facts. |
