Posted - September 09 2007 : 10:46:01 PM C'mon! Well done commercial; you'll have to pretend to be a football fan, though ... and watch!!!
Cliffs version of "The Gael" ... no dialog ... just grunts and crashes of the game. Right out of LOTM!!!! |

Posted - October 09 2007 : 8:55:46 PM I had this vision; here comes this over-muscled, over-armored, over-paid running back charging toward the end zone...and who should he meet on the goal line? Why, Chingachgook with his trusty blue hockey stick! Talk about your basic goal line stand...look, his white jersey is now red! |

Posted - October 09 2007 : 6:28:09 PM It's the Oct. 8th issue. The mention is near the beginning of the magazine and it's very small. Better to just read it at the newsstand |

Is it the most recent Newsweek? Do you remember the date on it? I'd like to read it. |

Posted - September 21 2007 : 5:55:50 PM For some strange reason our TV's don't get the channels that show football...at least on Sundays and Monday nights. But I did look at the YouTube clip and thought it was great. |

Posted - September 18 2007 : 07:39:29 AM Touchdown! Saw it on Monday Night Football last night and was pleasantly surprised. Nice moves by Shawn Merriman and Steven "Action" Jackson. It was one of the better made commercials in recent history. Hopefully will be nominated and win a Clio award. |

Posted - September 13 2007 : 1:06:34 PM I like to watch football. There's the huddles, the sweaty bodies with drenched hair clinging to their faces, all that muscle hidden under all that gear which only leaves your mind to wonder, and then there's that intense look of revenge in their eyes.
Yep, I like football!

Posted - September 10 2007 : 9:45:25 PM It couldn't be real football: they're using their hands and they're not wearing short pants!
And...no I'm not a big NFL fan any more (& I haven't been for years), but I still have enough emotional involvement in it to absolutely hate Dallas and Oakland... |

Posted - September 10 2007 : 8:03:42 PM Thanks for the link, Red. I finally got to see it and after watching it, that totally makes me want to watch football! |

Posted - September 10 2007 : 7:11:04 PM Here's the YouTube link, for anybody who hasn't seen it yet and wants to. Now all we need is Ching standing in the end zone with his hockey stick, whacking away the players who get close to the TD line.

Obi, Are you not a football fan or do you just not like commercials? I actually thought it was a pretty good commercial. |

Posted - September 10 2007 : 01:21:50 AM *goes back to ignoring all competitive sports* sorry bad time in high school. The football players got banquets once a week, but us kids with a 3.9 and 4.0 got pizza once every three monthes, (maybe) and what was our big reward for keeping it for 4 years a tiny piece of metal. what do the sports players get for 1 season, their numbers, letters, jackets, trophies, dinners, parties, announcements, yearbook pages, and so on and so forth.
It only took me 5 monthes of bugging my Yearbook teacher to get a half page each for our Science Olympiad and Science and Math competitors. And yet they place in the top three for three straight years.
Sorry about the rant. Must be said |
