Posted - August 22 2007 : 01:30:19 AM I have downloaded music from both LOTM and LOTF. Mohicans composer was Trevor Jones and Legends was James Horner. They are both very similar yet different soundtracks, and I love them both equally. Legends is another one of my fav's. In fact, funny but I swear it's true, Mohicans is my #1 and Legends is my # 2... #3 would be Interview With A Vampire... but it's hard to narrow it down really, there are sooo many I love. |

Posted - August 13 2007 : 11:55:34 AM Hee hee. Guess that's what I get for spending too long in the books. I start to make no sense!
I think I was picturing all three LOT- movies combined into one: LOTR has the Elves, LOTM has the Brits, and LOTF has Brad Pitt. All combined into one movie, you'd have a heck of a confusing epic on your hands, as I undoubtedly proved by being totally unintelligible!
My brain turns to mush after 10-12 hours of nothing but reading |

Oh no! Not another LOT- movie abbreviation. LOTM, LOTR, LOTF . . . I think my head is spinning.
And what a crazy mish-mash that would make. I guess Elves vs. Orks could be roughly parallel to Brits vs. French, but how to fit in Brad Pitt? Oh, I'm so confused.
thats what i was thinking too? huh? |

I really liked it too. It's probably the only movie that I actually liked Brad Pitt in. I'm not a big Brad Pitt fan, although I do love Aidan Quinn.

Posted - August 06 2007 : 12:06:40 AM yeah, i dont like it when people take music from other movies, but the movie itself doesnt look bad, its got pitt in it |

Posted - August 04 2007 : 6:52:48 PM Another commonly borrowed sountrack is Dragon Heart's. But yeah, LOTM's just didn't seem to go with LOTF. |

I'm wondering if this is a sort of psychological ploy. It's using a very familiar and popular piece of previous film music to sort of draw you and get you interested in the new movie. If it has music as beautiful as the Last of the Mohicans movie, it must be a great movie, right?
Totally agree with ya!! |

Posted - August 03 2007 : 11:21:03 AM I've seen many trailers in which the background music was lifted directly from Glory. |

Posted - August 02 2007 : 6:53:11 PM It is interesting, because I have heard the theme music from "Legends" (which is also very beautiful) being used in official trailers for other movies.
I'm sure it is done with permission from the movie studio and/or the composer. They know better than to steal something that noticeable. Is it possible that this is commonly done because the trailer is produced before the final edit is done, and possibly even before the entire musical score is completed? |

Posted - August 02 2007 : 5:08:03 PM Hey! That's from LOTM! The Elk Hunt, right? Maybe people went to see "Legends" just for the music and found themselves disappointed. I agree with you, it feels like stealing. |
