Thanks for the explanation; I know exactly which term you mean. We use the same phrase over here (across the pond) with the same meaning, it’s just that I have never seen it abbreviated before. I can’t imagine a time in the foreseeable future when I’ll use the icon on the message board, but it’s good to know what it means anyway.

Posted - September 24 2006 : 5:53:08 PM Well, Lotte, there are other nicer ways to get this message through to someone if you don't believe them. For example:
Or how about:
Then there's: poo!
You could even use this icon:
But whatever your choice is it all comes out to the same meaning!

This icon... ... says "BS" which is a phrase we use here in America whenever we think someone does not know what they are talking about. I'm sure that you have an equivalent phrase in Britain, but I don't know what it is. I can tell you what the letters themselves stand for, but I don't know if the board censor will allow it. So, I'll be a lady (for once!) and skirt around it. The "B" stands for Bull. The "S" stands for.... er... a 4-letter word that represents the material that exudes out from under the bull's tail.
Does that "clear it up any?" |
