Posted - March 10 2006 : 1:00:35 PM I wish they would bring these wonderful characters to life once more in another adventure which obviously would take place before LOTM. I am sure I am not the only one who would love to see Chingachkook, Nathaniel and most importantly of all Uncas, running around the woods in another great adventure. |

Hey Irishgirl, I wasn't having a go at the Brits of today. My mother is Scottish. But the Brits of history tis all, and not only the Brits, I only used them because they are in the movie, there were many European countries that just went in and took over.
Anyway, enough of that, back to Eric, I must have a look around now for threads on him..........tee hee......
Found another extremely yummy Native Actor last night, Michael Greyeyes.......tee hee.......shhhhhh |

Posted - April 03 2006 : 12:50:53 PM WW sorry about that remark. Guess I was not thinking straight. You are of course right and I apologize if I offended anyone English or otherwise. It will certainly not happen again. I love this board and the people on it and would never want to offend anyone. |

Let's be careful here, please. We have a number of members of the Mohicanland community who either live in England or who re-enact British. We have already lost one good English friend; let's not start something that makes us lose more.
Thanks.

Posted - April 03 2006 : 10:00:13 AM Welcome to the board Lurking Huron8044. I hope you manage to get registered. I think you will contribute a lot to the discussions on here. This past life thing though that you mention kind of freaks me out. Not a believer in that kind of thing but to each his own. I agree about the English. Not a big fan myself although I have lots of English relatives (Uncles and Aunts married English). Still I try and keep that quiet. Not something I want to get out. Another Eric fan is always welcome here and I agree with you that there is some kind of underlying sadness about him. Pity he had such a rotten childhood but we only have one childhood and can never get it back. I myself, can certainly relate to that having had a rotten one myself but I will not go there.
Good luck and get registered. |

Posted - April 03 2006 : 06:18:15 AM Hello again, I'm glad you're in Auz coz I know you're on my time....lol.....
I'm sorry I confused you with my note. I am Australian. But my heritage way back on my father's side was American and my Mother was born in Scotland. Not quite as bad as England.....tee hee hee...i joke.
I work a lot with energy, spirit, majick etc and have done a past life in which I was an Indian on the Western side of the Americas. I don't know where exactly but I do remember we were called something like Chepake, I don't know how to spell it but that is how I was pronouncing it. My name was LeyLana and my partner was Pachea, we had 5 children that lived, 2 girls and 3 boys. Pachea was killed by another of our kind when I was about 28 and he 32. I lived the rest of my life alone on the outskirts of the tribe but was well respected as a wise woman. Sounds strange I know, but it felt so wonderfully real.
Yes, I meant Eric's art. Can't you just feel his pain and loss when you look at them. I would love to know if he ever went back and found his true family and if he is happy. There is deep sadness hidden in his eyes when you look at pictures of him. But also something very Spiritual and majickal.
I just think he is a wonderful Soul.
I better stop there hey, getting off the prequel a bit.........lol...
thanks again for keeping the chat coming, makes me feel welcome already.

Posted - April 03 2006 : 06:01:02 AM Hi LurkingHuron8044,
That's odd. I tried it out and got the registration page. Could be a setting on your pc. I'm sure the webmaster will sort it out for ya.
So did you live in Australia very long? I'm am American living in Australia; my family has traced our British heritage back to ancestors who left England for America before the Mayflower.
I've always thought it's unusual how one can feel an affinity with a race so seemingly different from their own; I know where you're coming from though.
By works, do you mean movies or art? I've only seen one of his other movies. The art on his website is pretty amazing, too. You'll get no argument from me on that one. Eric is pretty special..
The Uncas discussions are all over the place. He manages to find his way into most discussions in one way or another! Have a read through and I'm sure you'll find him. |

Posted - April 03 2006 : 05:36:28 AM Hey Paazau
Thanks for the welcome. I've contacted the webmaster to find out where the registration page is. when you click on 'agree' it just takes you straight to the forum board???? never mind.
I have both American and British heritage (born in Australia). My American heritage goes back 4 or 5 generations tho. It did explain one thing to me tho.......my total love and adoration of the Native American Indian. The true Aboriginals of their land. They were a wonderful race ruined by the "Whites", I am white myself and I still hate it.
Have you seen Eric's works? I must find the thread you mentioned and have a read. I am totally devoted to him and others like him in many ways, but there is something special about Eric, maybe a past life link........must find out if he was on the western side in 1462........tee hee.......that was where my past life was. |

How true. They definitely have a reputation for movin' in and trying to force their ideals on others. They did it here in Australia as well; with much the same result as in America.

Posted - April 03 2006 : 04:09:51 AM Alas I am only a guest at the moment but am trying to figure out how to register on this wonderful site.
I agree with all of you, I think either a sequel or prequel would be a FANTASTIC idea. Given that love stories and romance movies, good overcoming evil etc are always big sellers..........look at the LOTR trilogy........ send emails to good ole PJ and see what comes back.
As for the actors, Eric Shweig is the ONLY UNCUS for me, I see the Inuit passion in his eyes and no-one could replace him, the same with Russell and Wes (not the Inuit part.........lol). For me PERSONALLY They brought out the true feeling of the movie.
Yes, Daniel is absolutely gorgeous of course and Madeleine has always been a beautiful actress but for me the movie was a lot deeper and showed us, yet again, how the brits treated the Natives and early settlers of other lands.
As for the actors being 20 years older.........take a look at Sharon Stone in the new Basic Instinct!!!! Have a look at Eric's site, He is still so BEAUTIFUL......and only 2 years younger than me....tee hee.....yummy.....one can dream......lol |

Posted - March 16 2006 : 05:05:06 AM I would love to see a sequel!! A prequel would be great too, but I can`t imagine that the original cast could be replaced. No way..Daniel Day-Lewis and Eric Schweig are the only Hawkeye and Uncas for me.But a seguel..I wish they`d make one. |

A seuquel! What a fantastic idea!! It's definitely loooong overdue.... As long as there are more scenes of those bare legs flashing under the flapping breechclout as he runs... and the eyes.... and the smile.. <melt>
And I might just throw this out here - Nathaniel has his own special appeal; not the same 'take-your-breath-away' gorgeous as uncas but definitely not a paper-bag job either.
So, does anyone have a direct line to Michael Mann that they can make this suggestion????? |

Eric would probably do it as long as he didn't have to run as much.....heehee

Posted - March 13 2006 : 11:32:33 PM If the second and "long lost" brother could beat the last one as far as looks, charm, looks, and hotness, I'm okay with it. But, alas, can that be...? |
Irishgirl |
Posted - March 13 2006 : 11:18:08 PM Well for a prequel I think they would have to cast different actors as you just couldn't make the original trio look as young as they would need to look. If it was a good story and well written I think it would be very interesting. It would however, be very difficult to find another actor to fill our "beloved Uncas's" shoes. Eric is one of a kind and faces that handsome don't come along too often.
As for a sequel that would be great too. Then the original actors could be used again. We could see what happened with Nathaniel and Cora. Maybe they could figure out some way to bring Uncas "back from the dead". He could have a long lost brother who looks and acts just like Uncas. There are always ways to ressurect the dead. Remember Bobby from Dallas and the famous Dream season? |

Posted - March 13 2006 : 9:29:30 PM Yeah.. But the actors would need a lot more make-up this time.. But maybe a sequel after all.. I know, some main characters are theoretically dead but we've seen stranger things happen in films.. |

Posted - March 13 2006 : 8:18:00 PM I definitely agree with you. It would be great to see how all of the characters lived and went about their lives before all the tragedy! :( I would surely be first in line to see it!!
