Posted - September 15 2004 : 10:32:16 PM Hello, my Mohican friends! I have a project for school where you have to pick your favorite quote and explain why you love it and what it means to you. Does anybody know the exact words to the quote when Hawkeye says "My father's people say that the birth of the sun, and his brother the moon.."that quote...can you tell me the exact words so I can write it down? I absolutely love the quote and I just cant figure out his exact words. Thanks, I appreciate it!

Posted - September 16 2004 : 03:21:55 AM Hi UL13, It is a lovely quote isn't it! I love the one about welcoming Uncas to the council around the fire. I love simple words that have a greater meaning, I guess cos I think there's no need in beating around the bush!
What you taking at School?

Posted - September 16 2004 : 12:05:26 AM Hi UL13, I couldn't remember the whole quote either, so I had to go to the script. If you ever want to find anything out about the movie, the script comes in quite handy. Here is the quote that you want:
At the birth of the sun and of his brother, the moon, their mother died ... so the sun gave to the earth her body, from which was to spring all life. And he drew forth from her breast the stars. The stars he threw into the night sky to remind him of her soul.
