Posted - September 08 2004 : 10:32:04 AM Calling all Last of the Mohicans fans!
Does anyone have any interesting behind the scenes facts or little known information about The Last of The Mohicans ?
Im researching the film for a TV production in the UK and am particularly looking for information that the general public doesnt know about but would find interesting.
I have already looked on the internet for information so I am particularly keen on facts that you may have seen elsewhere eg books, magazines or newspapers or maybe from other programmes you may have seen on the film etc.
Any information will be greatly appreciated...

Posted - September 09 2004 : 12:41:03 PM Ben, My apologies for being so highly excitable! BESIDES this wonderful site; Email me with any requests; I don't know everything; but am more than willing to help....as soon as I get that d*** horse to quit chasing those bloody flamingo's around (were's Mr. Bill to get them along, when you need him...); Seriously, Ben, on the TV; we have Cable, and they have a Director's series; last year MIchael Mann was on it to talk about LOTM (and the rest of his movies); I was so surprised; usually it's an Actor's series studio; so what: A&E or the History channel? he talked about all of his movies and LOTM as how it appealed to him as a love story; if you find that program replayed (couldn't get a tape into the VCR; too busy watching it) maybe something could be gleamed from it that is different from what is one the site (although I think everything is here). Also, try the book at the Library that lists all of the articles on LOTM from then (1972 - 1980 or so) and the newspaper reviews...a wealth of info if they're still around. Reading the archives is tedious but a lot of fun; you might even find my "horses" and Mr. Bill's flamingo's....ah, the fun we had then and now! Jo Again, my apologies; hope you took no offense to my email! |

Sorry, Ben, she gets excited - a horse & flamingo thing [inside joke].
Here on this web site, may I suggest that you start at The Mohicans Musings Index, then move on to the interviews, and keep on poking around. There's LOTS - most of it found nowhere else!
Enjoy the Trail! |

Posted - September 08 2004 : 6:35:34 PM Ben, There are so many details concerning the LOTM movie I can't BELIEVE you're even asking this question....there's stuff on this sight, on the movies sight; just log on....give me a break!!! What wouldn't the public know that isn't on the web??? Did you contact Michael Mann? Did you ever sit in and hear his views? Did you see the interviews of Madeline Stowe; read all of the published documents? I don't think there is ANYTHING that isn't know that isn't on this sight if you spend time on it....did you look at the pages of the Make-Up's tents; the soldiers #1 & #2 reviews? Spend some time here on the sight, it won't be for naught! Jo who's been around too long for this question..I guess |

Posted - September 08 2004 : 10:56:42 AM Hi Ben,
there's loads of good stuff around concerning LOTM - try http://www.mohicanpress.com/mo06030.html for some fab photos and little bits of gossip and also http://www.awesomefilm.com/script/lastmohi.txt for the original script (including scenes that were later deleted).
There are some lovely people on this sight who would be able to tell you more as I am relatively new and only really blab on about my opinions!
Hope this helps,
Jacy x |
