Yep that would be him: Johnny Tyler, madcap, where you going with that shotgun? Heheh yes he is much heavier in Tombstone. Steph
Cool!! He's quite the character in this movie. It's disappointing to see that Direct TV didn't put his name among the list of actors in Tombstone. |

Silent Thunder, Since you became a Billy Bob Thornton fan after watching Alamo, did you happen to recognize him in Tombstone? He looks TOTALLY different in Tombstone than in anything else I've ever seen. "Sumpin' on yer mind?" Stephanie
OMG, Stephanie are you serious?? I knew it!! Are you referring to the obnoxious guy that gets smacked around in the saloon by Wyatt? (Kurt Russell) I knew that guy's voice sounded so familiar, and looked like him except that he was heavier in Tombstone. I glanced at the list of actors when I watched it on Direct TV, but Billy's name was not on it. Thanks a bunch for the info. Until today, I swore that Billy Bob had a twin somewhere out there. |

Posted - March 16 2005 : 8:52:17 PM Glory is also one of my top favorites! I saw this movie again recently, I forgot how wonderful the movie was. I cried terribly at the end though. Very sad, but very awesome. I love the part when Matthew Broderick goes and yells at that guy to get shoes for his soldiers! :) |

Posted - March 13 2005 : 7:17:34 PM **sigh** so many movies so little time....
Let me start off with my favorite movies of all time.
1. Last Of The Mohicans. (Love the men in this movie, DDL and Eric Schweig definitely got it going on in this movie. Okay, let me put it this way, I've never seen such attractive/beautiful/gorgeous men like I've seen in this movie. Hey, Chingachgook in my opinion is one HOT guy also. Besides I'm a sucker for romantic movies)
2. Braveheart. (I love every movie with Mel Gibson, and of course the romantic thing again gets me).
3. Lord Of The Rings. (Trilogy) (Handsome men such as Viggo Mortesan and Orlando Bloom, make this movie even more enjoyable to watch. I loved the creativity, it is one of the best movies ever made.
4. Tombstone. (Loved It!! All I have to say is Val Kilmer and Kurt Russell, hot-hot-hot-Ouch!! Loved the machismo thing they got going on).
5. Gladiator. (Russell Crowe, awesome actor and of course as sexy as can be. He looks like a total romantic in real life).
7. Pirates Of The Caribbean. (Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, total hotties. This movie made me laugh more than I expected).
8. The Alamo. (Ditto to all of the above. I became a big Billy Bob Thorton fan once I watched this movie. Also, lots of lookers in this movie. Nice!!
and the list can go on and on, The Missing, King Arthur, Hidalgo, Man in the Iron Mask, Men Of Honor, Harry Potter (all 3 parts), Dances with Wolves, Titanic, Master & Commander, Young Guns, Finding Nemo, Shrek (both parts), Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, The Thin Red Line, Gangs Of New York, Tears Of The Sun, X-MEN (all parts), Lilo & Stitch, and etc. If I continue, I'll take up a couple of pages from this thread. I think I'll stop now. lol.... |

Posted - March 06 2005 : 11:27:17 AM Not being a real movie buff, - I'd have to say the series "Victory At Sea". I have the set, and have no idea how many times I've watched it, - but a lot, as in many, many times. Also Das Boot, - like realism, not fluff. |

Posted - December 31 2004 : 6:46:28 PM A couple of my favorites I don't remember seeing on anyone's list include:
American Beauty Being John (Jon?) Malkovich Election The Piano Citizen Kane Memento Serial Mom (SO campy!!)
Graybeard Longhunter mentioned "The Awakening Land", which is a great miniseries set in Chillicothe, Ohio and starring Hal Holbrook, Jane Seymour, Elizabeth Montgomery and some other notable TV stars ... are you sure it's not available anywhere on tape or DVD? I'd love to see it again ... or even to read it. Sadly, the original Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Conrad Richter is not in print or even available in most libraries (except through interlibrary loan).
Happy New Year!

Posted - December 31 2004 : 5:00:33 PM Well, I must say that there were very good films on this thread and normally I would have listed some of them but I thought I'd do a separate list, none of which I think}have been listed}of some of the very best I have seen and in no particular order except for four of them. The Gunfighter,Gregory Peck High Sierra,Humphrey Bogart Stage Coach,John Wayne The Grapes of Wrath,Henry Fonda Witness For The Prosecution,Tyrone Power Most anything by Alfred Hitchcock One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest,Jack Nicholson Night of the Hunter,Robert Mitchum Cape Fear,Robert Mitchum
Then there are four films from which I cannot pick just one and they are: The Oxbow Incident,Henry Fonda Dana Andrews and a fine ensemble cast The Treasure of the Sierra Madre,Hunmphrey Bogart,Walter Huston Breaker Morant,Edward Woodward Gallipoli,Mel Gibson The last two are Australian films which didn't get much play in the U.S. That's my list of oldies but goodies although there are some great films in the other lists and someone listed one of my all time favorites,Dr.Strangelove,or How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Bomb,Peter Sellers{three roles},George C. Scott as Gen. Buck Tugidson, Sterling Hayden as Brig. General Jack D. Ripper and who can forget Slim Pickens riding the bomb down as though he was riding a bull in a rodeo That's my list and I think some are still available in the video stores and I might futther add that the last two Australian films present issues that are very much in tune with some of the problems we face in today's world. Posted - September 01 2004 : 05:16:51 AM Anyone seen Wyatt Earp? Thought it was better than Tombstone.
Dances with Wolves is amazing - has to be one of the all time best right along with LOTM.
Thought the first Lord of the Rings was fab but am almost ashamed to say I thought the last one was a little too long - battle scene great - ending (yawn). I will probably be booed off the stage for that little out-rage!
As a little girl the Princess Bride was a fav movie of mine as well as the Phantom of the Opera with Charles Dance.
Think I remember seeing the Hawkeye tv series as well.
Oh but the Beauty and the Beast tv series was like the best ever tv series - I hear the booing again - probably be followed by some rotten eggs so I'll be off.
