If you could be out in the wild, rugged wilderness with one character from LOTM who would it be? The outspoken, tough Hawkeye? The silent, strong, caring Uncas? The daring Jack Winthrop?
--I would choose Uncas..by far. Not only is he good looking, he just has that caring, sensitive side to him. But also, I know he'd keep me safe no matter what.

Hey..I just thought of this!! Another reason I chose Uncas was because..you know in the scene when he gazes at Alice from afar?!? Well, what if he was just staring at you like that and close up, too?!?!?!? OMG! I would die!! I love him, love him, love him! Sorry if I seem sooo weird on this one..but I just thought, "If he looked at me like that..I'd stay in the wilderness FOREVER." lol!

I'd choose Duncan, although the chances of survival would be better with Hawkeye or Uncas. Nothing against Hawkeye or Uncas, but Duncan's the one.

Ladies and Gents, I have to go with Magua on this one. He does have that fanatical devotion to his spouse going for him, plus a definite knack for survival durign difficult times. Seems to make alliances easily, whether ye be British or French. Not afraid to say what he thinks (and understands English VERY well). Handy with a blade. And last but not least, this Lady likes her men to be, well, a bit DANGEROUS.

Uncas...can there be any other? Agreed, he isnt the rough and tough Hawkeye, but the strong, shy and silent younger brother. I bet theres a lot he could teach me unserneath the dark wilderness sky! haha

Jack intrigues me, but I'd have to go with Nathaniel... :D I'm with Christina.

Hmmmmmmm, to be stuck out in the wilderness with any of the characters from the movie...... I would have to say Hawkeye.
I think that he would be the one to really protect the poor girl that HAS to be STUCK with him.

I have to say Hawkeye.
He is my favorite and he has everything I look for a guy-brave and hot...

OK...been thinking on this and I've come to the conclusion that since Hawkeye probably wouldn't have a Greatcoat nor would he most likely not know what one was, I'd have to settle for warmth from those long limbs of his...

After much careful thought and consideration, I've come to the conclusion that I would much prefer being in the wilderness with the strong, silent, caring Uncas. I think he'd be fun to share a blanket with on a long night underneath the stars. Although, Hawkeye runs a very close second.

er-r-r... w-e-e-e-l-l... [cough]... u-h-h-h... heh-heh... I haven't... er... actually mentioned anything about... [WW nervously clears throat] ummmm... Ching... to my mister. [cough]

Ok, Ok. Touche'! Ya got me there, Seamus! [WW mutters "Rats!" under her breath, and makes mental note to self to think more clearly next time she attempts to razz Seamus.]

Good question! Guys?? What say ye to that one?
Seamus Posted - June 04 2004 : 8:47:15 PM
We-e-e-e-e-l-l-l........yer ownself, WW! I might ask the same question of certain.....ahem......'misters' I happen to know about!

A kid was saying his bedtime prayers, when he said, "And, please, Sir, one more thing: Could you send me a blonde? I'm tired of squeezing blackheads."

Now, I ain't saying I'm tired of squeezing 'blackheads', (or once and former such) but I do admire a cute blonde.....young or not-so-young! And, yes, she is keenly aware, as I don't hide it from her, of my appreciation of girls of opposite sex.............she is also keenly aware that she has nothing to fear. I appreciate all colors of cranial foliage, if it is natural, and its bearors, too, especially when packaged attractively..............

Why is it that we never hear of such questions when the ladies are panting and sweating and drooling over the clouts, kilts and longhairs? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm????????????? I am simply replying to the Topic question, my friend! We AAAALLLLLLL have our fantasies.......... now, don't we?
Wilderness Woman Posted - June 04 2004 : 4:10:28 PM
We-e-e-e-e-l-l-l....... perhaps I was taken by surprise because of all of your hitherto references to "the dark-haired lass." And tell me, Seamus me lad, does she know of your... er... attraction to the young Alice? Hmmmmmmmm?
Seamus Posted - June 04 2004 : 11:24:41 AM
WW!! Why would you and "everyone" be shocked? Makes perfect sense to me! Hair color means nothing, really, to me at all; 99% of female hair coloring is "What you see ain't what she got" anyway, now is it??? Haha!

I can understand your Chingachgook fantasies, too, WW.....he is, indeed, an elegant man. Good choice.

Well, since Seamus has opened up and shocked everyone with his surprising answer... [I must confess, Seamus, I had not suspected that you would go for the blonde ingenue!] I will be brave and perhaps surprise you all with my own answer.

Being a lady of rather rapidly advancing years, and being a lady who is usually attracted to the strong, silent, nobly handsome types... my choice would be Chingachgook.

There. I've said it. My most closely guarded secret. I have seriously wished, for a number of years now, that Mr. Means would park his moccasins under my bed!
Seamus Posted - June 04 2004 : 05:54:39 AM
Yeah, Rich........I figure she would be good company, since Uncas is pre-occupied with all the girls from the Board. Besides, she's cuter than a bug!
richfed Posted - June 04 2004 : 05:21:45 AM
Miss Cora Munro, but of course! A beauty!

Alice, Seamus?
Bookworm Posted - June 03 2004 : 8:43:38 PM
Alice???? ALICE??!!!!! Guess it just goes to show that even a friendship of 30 years' standing doesn't reveal everything there is to know about a person . . . .

As for me, I'll vote with Christina and Theresa, and secondarily with Gadget Girl. Uncas seems like a real nice guy, but way too young and untested. And let's not forget Magua, who really loved his wife. If only he'd give up that crusade of his....
Gadget Girl Posted - June 03 2004 : 4:09:54 PM
You girls are making my monitor drip with all that drooling!!
I'm sorry, but there ain't no "better reason than you Jack Winthrop". Jack it would be!

Heck, I'd GET him a greatcoat! I'd be the one coming from the Big Bad City and I'd GLADLY get my hands on one for him! In fact, Hawk could have any clothing item he desired!
Yes, Theresa, a greatcoat would go VERY nicely...braw laddies always look so good in em in the movies...
mmmmmmmmmmm...

I'm with you on that one, Christina. He'd make you forget you were in the wilderness being chased down by Huron and the like. Now....wonder if he'd have one of those great coats that came in mighty handy one night around the campfire.
Seamus Posted - June 03 2004 : 2:03:25 PM
Alice. No justification needed...........just.........Alice. And a large supply of Port...............<l-o-n-g s-l-o-w sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Christina Posted - June 03 2004 : 10:14:57 AM
Hawkeye. No doubt about it. Long, lean, long-haired man in buckskins and a breech clout. Give me a man like that and I will follow him anywhere. No waterfall too high, no water too deep, no mountain too high...and make that man Daniel Day-Lewis to boot, well, that's just a little bit of outdoor heaven on earth....
Hawkeye it is.
