I was reading thru past topics and read a few replies that there was the brief shot of alice and uncas's bodies at the bottom of the cliff side by side..maybe the quality of my vcd was bad..but I REALLY COULD NOT make out them lying side by side..let alone the bodies..someone please tell me like which part of the background of that scene their bodies were placed..all i saw were trees and bushes.. and the part when alice looked down the cliff before she jumped..someone mentioned she was looking at uncas body..and I did not see or could make out a body again..though i assumed in both those scenes that there were bodies.. |

Ok my findings are.........inconclusive.
I zoomed it in to 6 times normal and you could easily see Alice laying face down head toward the bottom of the screen, she could be laying across Unca's body, there seems to be "something" to the left of her that could be a head, but the quality of the picture is too bad at that far away to confirm it. |

Take a look at the 1936 version with the Uncas/Cora thing (the roles of Cora and Alice are reversed).
Uncas goes off the cliff. Then Cora/Alice falls, too. But Uncas isn't dead!!! Yet. Slowly he extends his hand and grasps hers (she is dead) then he dies. Sniff! Sniff!  |

I could never see this on my DVD so I think it is just a "myth" the bodies lying together in death. |

My DVD clearly show stheir bodies side by side at the bottom of the cliff. They landed on the same rock bed. If you can find Alice, who is more visible because of her light-colored dress, then look a little toward the north of where Alice is, you will see Uncas's body there. |

I once blew this up on the DVD and could only make out Alice. She's pretty clear as she is wearing light clored clothing. Pretty much in the center of the shot, as I recall. Uncas's clothing was more Earth-colors. He may have been there, but I couldn't find him. |
