When I was young (early 70's CBS used to show an animated series called Famous Classic Tales, usually on early Saturday afternoons or on special holidays. Among the classics I recall seeing were The Mysterious Island, The Three Musketeers, and Ivanhoe.
As I recall the stories remained faithful to their source material. I saw LOTM on Thanksgiving Day! The only thing I really remember is one of the daughters riding hard to catch up with Hawkeye to go away with him at the end. I think it was Alice.
Anyone else see this version? |
