Posted - October 05 2003 : 2:03:26 PM We just watched the DVD of LOTM. I enjoyed it, but I was surprised that the Clannad piece that had been such a haunting feature of the movie when I saw it at the theater was not heard on the DVD.
What gives?

Posted - October 05 2003 : 10:01:47 PM Thanks, Daire!
I have the Clannad album, was probably one of those who rushed out after the movie 10 years ago.
I just wondered why they had done that, and if there was some story behind it. Guess not! The sound track sounds very thin without that song, if you ask me.

Posted - October 05 2003 : 8:58:12 PM They took out a number of things with the Director's (allegedly) Expanded Edition and added some stuff...at the expense of other good scenes and lines. This is why I keep a copy of the VHS handy, it's the theater version.
I still love LOTM, but am not thrilled with the dvd version...to me, expanded means what we originally got plus more, not taking stuff away from us. I'm holding out hope for someday seeing a dvd version released merging the two. If you get the FX channel, when they play it, it has the stuff they added AND The stuff they took out.
You can also find "I Will Find You" on Clannad's album "Banba".
