Posted - March 27 2006 : 7:12:10 PM You heard it right! Once again the Gathering crowd will be auctioning wampum and brandy in order to raise funds for darling Ariel. While Kay is working on some exciting goods for the auction, I have an auction item to announce as well. Many of you looked at my scrapbook in 2004, and some of you said you'd like to do one yourself. It's not very difficult, and now it can be much easier! Through a generous donation, we will be auctioning a Mohican Gathering Scrapbook Kit! With these items, you can easily turn your Gathering photos into nifty scrapbook pages to include in your scrapbook. Included will be some 12X12 papers, stickers, and embellishments keeping in the theme of the Gathering, such as hiking-themed, Native American, waterfalls, rafting, etc.
I know some of you are already scrapbookers, but even beginners will love this set. So start saving your pennies, and remember it all goes to Ariel! And if you are in Brevard, stop in at Sandy's Scrapbook Corner and thank her for the donation to Ariel's Auction. Watch for another exciting auction item from Kay soon! Steph |

Posted - June 02 2006 : 11:57:42 PM A while back I mentioned a scrapbook kit that was donated for Ariel's Auction. These items are specially chosen for use in a Mohican Gathering scrapbook. This collection includes 10 sheets of paper (12 X 12, each different) and various stickers and embellishments. There are a few more items than are pictured here, plus everything in this picture is part of the kit. A scrapbook is not included. Special thanks to Sandy's Scrapbook Corner in Pisgah Forest, NC for the donation to Ariel's Auction! http://www.sandysscrapbookcorner.com/

Posted - May 07 2006 : 11:49:34 PM Here is a new item for Ariel's Auction. It is a handmade storyteller quilt and measures about 48"x60". It is kind of small, but it would be good for a twin bed or just to wrap around you on a cool night. I love it and want to thank the wonderful woman that made it, which just happens to be my mother. Thanks mama!!!! Not that she will ever see this post since she never gets on the computer, but she knows how much I appreciate her doing this. She just wanted to help out. I am sure that there will be alot of bids on it!!! Here's a picture of the quilt:

Posted - April 09 2006 : 09:00:56 AM I got an email from someone that doesn't have anything for the auction, but she asked me if she could send me a check to help out with Ariel's Auction. I told her that it all goes to Ariel, whether it is money from the auction or a monetary donation. If anyone wants to do this, then that will be great. I will keep a record of everyone that sends any money for Ariel. Thanks Gang!!!

Posted - April 09 2006 : 08:56:31 AM Here is another auction item. This is an old Patterson lacrosse stick, made on the Tuscarora Indian reservation in upstate NY. The stick is all wood, and the basket is rope and leather. I'm guessing it would be 20 years old or more. There is a rawhide catch at the bottom of the basket. It measures 43" overall length, and the diameter of the stick handle is smaller than an official fiberglass stick today. I think the main appeal of this would be as a "hanger" for decor in a den, study, rec room, etc., but it is in condition that it could be used for play if desired! When no one is around, you can pretend to play a game of lacrosse with Hawkeye and Uncas. More auction items ro come soon!!!
