Posted - June 16 2005 : 4:13:09 PM Ok I have a question and I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but I figured it's worth a shot. There was a prize given at one of the Gatherings during a raffle and if the winner is willing to part with it, I would like to acquire it and will work out a price and shipping with you. I believe it was Lady Ann (but might have been Stan & Terri) who brought a set of 2 framed photographs entitled "Deepest Florida" by S. Vaughn. I won one of them, and don't know who won the other. I would love to hang them together in my house if the winner of the other one can let it go. Strange question to ask, I know, but it might work out! Has anyone else coveted a Gathering prize that got away? Now, here's your chance to ask about it. Who knows, the person who won it might be cleaning house and willing to give it up. So, use this forum to ask about that little goody that slipped away. Hint: I doubt whoever won the June Rum Shrub will entertain any queries! Stephanie |

Posted - June 17 2005 : 3:11:07 PM The one I have is a small photo of Florida landscape, matted and in a pinkish frame. If I remember correctly, the other was framed just like this one with a smiliar, though not identical, photo. So, it will probably be difficult to match it up even at one of his shows. Now that I've seen his website, I might just have to order one of those larger shots! They are great and make me long for the sunshine state. Thanks again for the info. I was thinking of you the other night as I was putting a fresh white feather on the light blue cap which is part of my CW outfit. I still love it! Thanks again for everything, Steph |

Posted - June 17 2005 : 2:03:11 PM It may not make you feel any better, but I can definitely say that the two photos (assuming there were two...that part I can't remember!) were not a set...just two unrelated phenomenal shots of natural Florida. If I knew what was in the 2nd photo, I could get you a duplicate...otherwise you just may have to settle for whatever I can find at one of Steve's shows (he always has the smaller photos for sale, as well as the panoramas, at art festivals). |

Posted - June 17 2005 : 11:52:03 AM Thanks for the link, Ann. The panoramic shots are awesome! Maybe I'm mistaken about there being two of these framed pics, but I remember thinking it was sad to break up the "set" and I have since wondered what happened to the other one. Could I have imagined it? Anything's possible!!!! Thanks again, Stephanie |

Posted - June 17 2005 : 09:14:00 AM Stephanie, I did indeed put one of Steve Vaughn's photos in the Florida basket you won..."Deepest Florida"...his shot of egrets in the Everglades, I think it was. I don't remember including a Vaughn photo in the 2004 Florida basket (although I could have...the mind and memory are going). Steve's work is quintessential Florida...I've been collecting his photos for years...since the early 80s at least...and have them all over my house. You can browse his current collection at www.stevevaughn.com to find a mate for your egrets OR you can come visit me in Florida and we can walk over to his gallery (not far from my home in Winter Park!). |
