Posted - July 10 2004 : 12:53:24 PM Rich this must be one of the most interesting pictures of the bunch. I don't know if you'll want to put it on the Gathering page or not, entirely up to you, but the body language and facial expressions in this pic are fascinating. If you pretend for a moment that you don't know the people, it almost looks like one of those pictures they hand you in creative writing class, and you have to make up a story about what's going on in the picture. I believe I'd have to start my story with Cindy Williams... wouldn't you just love to caption this for fun? Anyway, thought you might want to have it! :-) steph
OK! Good idea! Any takers ... ?

Posted - July 25 2004 : 11:30:21 AM Okay here's a new Write Yer Own Caption, also from Spirits on the River. Rich posted this picture on the Gathering page but I thought it would be fun here as well. Any ideas?

Posted - July 13 2004 : 3:42:15 PM Pardon me garçon - I would like a healthy serving of the Curry in a Hurry special along with some freshly baked Nan. Oh! You only have cornbread? Well, then in that I will take two of those... |

"Well, sir, if this IS, indeed, an Indian Restaurant, I think I'll have the Tikka Masala."
Excuse me? Well... I rather thought I'd have the CHICKEN Tikka Masala... Uh, the choice is - BUFFALO or GATOR???? Perhaps I should try the Biriyani... Buffalo or Gator... I see... *sigh*...

Posted - July 12 2004 : 10:39:19 AM How about this:
Are you CERTAIN that this is an Indian establishment? The entre's aren't at all like those they served in Pondicherry.
Rich has assured me that it is indeed Indian, and the chap by the door did look a bit like a Sikh I knew in the 77th. Still, it's as I once told Mountbatten; Dickie, you simply can't entrust the Raj to that dreadful Ghandi fellow! No good can possibly come of it. And you see, I was right. |

Posted - July 12 2004 : 08:17:07 AM Okay, we're on the page 'What is Rich saying'...
"What do you mean YOU ARE ALL ON STRIKE until 'two miles' MEANS TWO MILES'!! I WON'T HAVE 'sedition' at a Gathering! HAVE YOU ANY IDEA what I do to dissenters??? TELL HER, DUNCAN!!"
"Uh... Miss, why do you suppose this place does mainly BAR-B-QUE????" |

Posted - July 12 2004 : 12:14:44 AM I will say that Cindy is somewhat less than enthusiastic about consuming anything that drags its stomach along the ground. And has no shoulders. Or swims. Or roams the Great Plains in herds. |

Posted - July 11 2004 : 9:26:20 PM Poor Cindy W.! Let's pick on someone else in the picture now, hmmm how about Rich! Okay here's what Rich is saying:
I told you I wanted to sit at the head of the table! I am the Sachem after all. No? You're not moving? Okay, I'll just stand the whole time! No one recognizes me without my hat anyway.
heheheh Steph |

Posted - July 11 2004 : 6:23:14 PM "Edwahd, DAHling, that rascal waitah is trying to give little Charlotte Victoria the wink! I DO think we should move on to anothah, higher class establishment... *sigh*..."
"Gwendolyn, dahling, I KNOW that they have merely RRRROLLED the silverware in the serviettes, but... I hear the FOOD is pukka!"
Edwahd, MY DEAH! I Don't care if JOANNE SHANANDOAH is appearing here tonight!! Mummy doesn't like it here so - WE'AH EATING AT KRITTERS AND THAT'S FINAL!"
Hmmmmm, I was sitting directly across from Cindy and trust me, if that was what she was saying, I would have literally been rolling on the floor (actually the ground) with laughter. My caption to what Cindy was saying was so close to Stephanie's that I didn't even bother posting it. I think that they are both cute and fitting captions for this picture.
