Posted - November 06 2022 : 3:57:33 PM Today was the "last event" of this year. A "winter weekend" is planned, but that's in February. - Today (Sunday) the turnout was low - pretty warm, but heavy rain forecast for the afternoon - and rain it did. I was told that Saturdays turnout was good, especially with temps about 70* - unusual for this area. - The Vermont Abenaki were there as usual - and we picked up two new young "warriors" from Maine. - Not sure the Abenaki dressed quite that way, but they REALLY knew their history & had some great looking stuff for sale - I passed. - Even thru in a pic of the clouds coming in before the wash-out. - Hard to believe the season is over. . Posted - November 07 2022 : 3:06:28 PM I do hear you Fitz - we "briefly" got into some politics - but we were all "on the same page" & moved on. - Seems to be a pretty common problem lately. - I could not imagine a 6 hour drive going thru Atlanta or any large city - simply wouldn't do it. - Hopefully things will pick-up next year - but don't intend to "hold my breath" waiting. |

Posted - November 07 2022 : 10:40:39 AM I am glad to see that things are happening at #4. Things around here are not what they were. There is an event this weekend near Camden but I don't plan to go. It used to be a good event but unit and site politics have ruined it. Last weekend was Fort Toulouse. I wish I could have gone. But it is in Alabama and a 6-hour drive through Atlanta for me. |
