I don't know much about wilderness camping, so I may be wrong about a lot of things...
The bags and pieces of leather and thongs are definite keepers. Maybe the canvas shelter would be too bulky/heavy, but the metal items could be traded. I wonder how much the pins are worth? The gold bracelet could possibly replace the horse that he said was stolen in an earlier episode, and he might have had enough left over from that to get another cow when he got to his end destination.
I would have traded the metal plate and carved/traded for a noggin that could hang on a belt. The frying pan would be a keeper. The iron cross would be an either/or.
I guess we gotta wait for the next episode to find out :)

Maybe it's just me and my Dungeons and Dragons-style thinking, but was anyone else hoping he'd take the pins and canvas with him in the morning?
