Posted - October 25 2024 : 09:20:07 AM I talked with a friend that has a house at Lake Lure. She thinks that her house is OK. A friend of hers hiked in to the area and took some pictures. There are about 12 houses there and it is located well above the river. Her friend is going to try and get back in this weekend for a better look. He said there were a lot of trees down but luckily they missed the houses. |

Posted - October 24 2024 : 09:31:14 AM I have seen some pics from friends in that area. There is a long way to go. But I have heard that the town of Lake Lure, which is just beside Chimney Rock, did not receive all the damage that the other one did. Maybe because it is on a lake, and the dam overflowed rather than backed up? Don't know. |
