Sgt. Demetrick Pennie, a 17-year veteran of the force, is seeking between $500 million and $1.5 billion in the complaint filed in federal court, the Dallas Morning News reported.
The defendants in the class-action suit include Black Lives Matter; President Obama; Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton; the Rev. Al Sharpton; Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and billionaire activist George Soros.
“Defendants incite people to violence and cause violence by telling those people that they are under attack. Defendants are encouraging disaffected blacks, Black Muslims, Muslims and others allied with them including certain whites to ignore, disrespect, and assault law enforcement officials, and commit violence and lethal force,” the lawsuit states, according to the paper.
The lawsuit alleges the defendants "have repeatedly incited their supporters and others to engage in threats of and attacks to cause serious bodily injury or death upon police officers and other law enforcement persons of all races and ethnicities." . . I admire this man beyond words - but unfortunately he's as good as dead ... |

Posted - September 19 2016 : 10:50:34 PM Speaking as a retired cop, I can sympathize with this officer's desire to pursue justice, but it will not go anywhere. The reason for this is simple, as a police officer, you do not warrant a 'safe work environment', since your job is to go into harm's way.
Over the years, and at far too many line-of-duty funerals for co-workers, I heard the usual chest-thumping and whining "we have it too hard" crap from some of my less-than-bold coworkers. During those times, I had to remind them that they chose to pursue a career in law enforcement, and that danger is kind of what we do.
This was usually followed by me saying, "Well, you wanted to wear the badge, and you know the risks. If its too much for you, why don't you find a nice office job, Sweetie. Come on, I'll help you pick out a dress!"
Oh well, just my thoughts...

Posted - September 19 2016 : 07:20:49 AM I think it's an expensive "attention getter", political statement. - However, he hasn't shown who has caused him any loss of income, apparently there is none. He "may be able" to show that these people have caused him an increased risk to his life (mental anguish/stress) - due to statements by the people mentioned. - Better lawyers that us will take this as far as it can/will go ... I do wish him well. |
