Just returned from a trip to a nearby city, Nashua - on one street, not very far from a large mall - were quite a number of police cars, lotta flashing blue lights - PLUS the bomb squad truck was there also. - My guess is that the "bomb squad" isn't called out very often in Nashua ... Nothing at all - or a "sign of the times" with more to come??? |

The characters from the ME don't seem to doing much calling in advance - sorta like to surprise folks. |

Yesterday I was talking with a friend about his trip to Israel. When there he had heard there was a bomb threat in a market he planned to visit. His contact just laughed and said if you hear there is a bomb threat, then there is no bomb. The real ones just go off with no warning. |

I recall those days - ditto for high school in the '50's. - It was a pretty rare event for us though in Cambridge, Ma. - You don't see or hear much about phony bomb alerts in this area - and with todays "political climate" - you never really know. |

When I was in high school, in the '50's, it was not uncommon for a "bomb threat" to be called in. It was always on a pretty afternoon and the call always came from a pay phone across the street. We got out of class for an hour or so, and they never found the caller. It didn't even make the news. Now it would be on all the networks. So who knows. |
