Posted - September 07 2008 : 08:54:08 AM As I "feared," it has been brought to my attention that there are some ill-feelings - for lack of a better term - that I chose to put up a small photo and link in support of the McCain/Palin Republican ticket on the home page of this web site.
When I did so, a couple of days ago, I anticipated - though I hoped otherwise - that someone was probably going to object.
I can't help you with that. I know that this web site is not a political web site ... I never put my views about politics on the web-site proper [9/11 aside].
But, to me, this is one of those things that is much more important than Mohicans and fun and games. To me, this election is a critical juncture for the future course of this great country of ours. I feel compelled to support John McCain and, maybe especially, Sarah Palin to lead this country in the direction I feel is best.
This is very, very important to me. I have donated money and will do whatever little I can to help their campaign.
What is on the site - and I am not talking about any discussions that might ensue hear on the board in the Lion's Den, etc. - is merely an endorsement of my choice. It doesn't condemn the other ticket or make any statement other than that is who I support. No one should feel offended or alienated, but that is beyond my control. This is one of those times where - in my small way - I will put Country First.
Win or lose, it will come down after the election, but not before.
EDIT --> After posting this, I decided to move the link from the top of the page to a less conspicuous place at the bottom. That is in deference to folks I love & respect on the "other" side. |

You are right Obi, but I was drawing comparisions to the domestic policies of the two. As for the holocaust, that was Himmler's idea originally, and carried forward by Adolf as his now infamous 'Final Solution'. However I can draw another parallel to today; an FBI informant, Larry Grathwohl, who was attended a meeting at William Ayers house in the 1970's, stated that Mr. Ayers suggested the 'needed elimination' of about 26 million Americans to complete his 'revolution', so as to avoid any possible counter-revolution (more than 4-times as many as Adolf did, but still only less than half of Stalin's 55 million).
Note: While there are many websites quoting the World Net story, the You Tube footage of the 1982 interview with Mr. Grathwohl is suspiciously 'no longer available'. Hmmmmmm, could this be the work of the Obama 'Truth Squad'? The same bunch of 'brown-shirts' that threatened criminal charges against any group who dared to speak anything against 'The One', even just stating the facts?
Repeat, George Orwell, call your office!

There is nothing worse than somebody who refuses to take advantage of the vote but still insists on complaining nonstop about whoever gets elected!
I might not agree with someone's opinion, but I would never consider it
Your faithful independent voter, Christina
PS. Yes, I voted for McCain/Palin. |

They both have their pros and cons, but I have to pick one and I will just vote my conscience. That is all I can do, and I refuse to put down anyone on this board for voting who they feel is best for our country!!! PLEASE VOTE!!!

On this we can all agree 100%. For if you do not vote (and only once, please), then you have no right to complain about the outcome.

Posted - November 02 2008 : 11:03:08 AM You're 100% right MG, and I even said something along those lines 10 years ago. President Kennedy was strong on defense, a supporter of individual liberty & responsibility, and in favor of lower taxes/less government intervention (he still holds the record on the largest tax cut in U.S. history).
In the U.S today, JFK would be a Republican.

Posted - November 02 2008 : 12:36:29 AM As much as I dislike the Clintons, and their associates (like James 'The Snakehead' Carville, Madeline 'Half-Bright' Fulbright, and other assorted non-talented hacks), she still is more conservative than 'The One' and his little band of marxists. Hell, Barrack Obama makes Hillary Clinton look like Ronald Regan (and for today's Democrats, that is quite a feat indeed)

Posted - November 02 2008 : 12:10:56 AM Look on the bright side, if Obama wins (which he will, according to the polls), then he will undoubtedly be re-elected in 4 years -- that means 8 years for him -- AND IT SHOULD KEEP HILLARY OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE FOREVER... |

Posted - November 01 2008 : 11:08:06 PM You know Obi, I was going to say the same thing earlier; but then I thought some pinhead/'progressive'/cultural-marxist type would say the old Sarge was 'beyond the pale'. Though said marxist(s) wouldn't even be smart enough to know that phrase is also a slur against those of Irish heritage (whoops I forgot, in their reality white folks of any culture do not count). Then again, these 'coffee-table intellectuals' are renown for not bothering to learn more than what is 'trendy' and in-style (as the current poll numbers show).

Posted - November 01 2008 : 2:49:19 PM So, let me get this straight ...
Our man of hope & change selects a blow-hard, retread to be his VP.
Hmmm ...
He doesn't know Tony Rezko is a crook ... He doesn't know what Rev. Wright's been saying in his CHOSEN church for the past 20 years ... He doesn't know that Bill Ayers is a terrorist ... as is his wife [Bernardine Dohrn] ...
Hmmm ...
That Chicago Bunch! What a NICE All-American Crowd they are!
And now he doesn't know that his aunt lives in poverty. The man for the people, who will REDISTRIBUTE wealth for the good of us all, has left his aunt to her squalor ... Oh, and he doesn't know that she is here illegally, either.
Hmmm ...
Just what DOES Barrack *we can't say his middle name* Obama know?
Cool and calm just might = COLD & CALCULATING, ya think?

This reminds me of a (true) story told to me by a friend:
Back around 1990, when there was some major rioting in southern California, much of the Calif. National Guard was sent into that area to protect life & property (I think). One unit of the ANG was posted to some of the beaches in SoCal...and as this unit was doing their job, they were accosted by some gang bangers who to them to get out, because they (the gang bangers) were the "baddest gang on the beach." To which the soldiers just laughed; one pointed to his breast patch, which said "U.S. ARMY" & told the punks that they were staying because they were the "baddest gang in the world!" ... End Of Confrontation... |

Posted - October 25 2008 : 2:47:41 PM Ditto to WW, it was a good article. I do have one question, since when is Gen. Powell a moderate? He was always RINO (Republican In Name Only), just like GW's dad, along with Senators Snow (ME) and Spector (PA), just to name a few. General Powell was always more comfortable with the 'blue-bloods' of the party, rather than its conservative base, and that was never a secret. When GW made him SecState, I knew that was more of a favor to his dad then his own personal choice (SecState Rice being more in-line with the Bush Doctrine).
As much as I respect him personally (for any man who is 'tabbed', automatically gets my professional respect), he showed his true colors to me in 1991, when he was 'shocked and horrified' by the way we (me, and several thousand of my 'closest friends', in the air and on the ground) stopped the Iraqi Republican Guard on Highway-8. We were still in the process of decimating them (which were our orders), when he and GW's dad shut us down. I would have expected such actions from a guy like the president at that time (thankfully his son favors his mother more in the backbone department), but I thought that a man like Gen. Powell would have been more savvy, and aware of one very important fact. That being the U.S. military, for all of its humanitarian missions, was still designed for one purpose only, to 'break things and kill people' (as my old First Sergeant used to tell us), and we always did that job better then anyone else in the world.
