Our new DVD on Simon Kenton is soon to be released. We've finished the filming at the historic Acord Cabin in Bethel, Ohio. Now we wait for all the cutting, etc by my friend, producer & director, Muggs Jones of 'That's Just Muggs Productions.' http://www.douglaswjonesjr.com/kww.html

Well, needless to say, our DVD is put on the backburner for awhile.
My friend got a new job that is keeping him busy at the time. We'll
let you know when it is released.

By the way, talked to my friend tonight, of 'That's Just Mugg's Productions', and he's hoping to have our DVD "An Evening With Simon & Betsy Kenton" finished before the holidays. Least we hope so and by the way, check this out if you get a chance. http://www.douglaswjonesjr.com/homeschool.pdf / http://www.douglaswjonesjr.com/TJMcatalog.html

Finally got my tests done, sleep apnia, and the hida-scan on my
gall bladder. That sleep study was for the birds, killer birds.
they put putty in your har with about 50 or more wires that are
glued, taped and puttied all over you, then watch you with a camera,
all night. I got so bored I started making stupid faces at the
camera, but figured I better quit when the guy started laughing so
hard outside that I could here him from behind closed doors.
Anyways after only ~3-4 hours of sleep in over 48 hours, then I had to
go downstairs to nuclear medicine for the hida-scan. The girls there
are getting to know me so well they're even flirting with me (LOL).
Oh if they only knew how tired I was that I even thought about pretending
by putting my head on one of their laps and call out Nancy's name, but
then I thought better. They'd probably tell her, and then I'd die a
horrible death. Anyways they are telling me they can't take
out my gall bladder yet, but I'll die for sure if I don't take their
breathing machine. (LOL) I told them if my bladder ruptures they'll
save money all around.

KFM!

Good Lord, I about hit the floor when I read all that's been happening to you! I'm so thankful that you are both okay. As far as that flipping lawn mower, me thinks you were trying to be macho again! I told you 100x you can't lift the mower over your head!

Just teasin' darlin'! Seriously, I am very glad you weren't seriously hurt. So sorry to hear life had it's way with you there for a while. But you've pulled through so it sounds and I'm thankful.

If you need anything at all feel free to PM me. We don't live too far and I'd be all too happy to help you and the Mrs, all you need do is ask.

Take care of yourself, Kentucky!

Last I heard she was improving, but that's not much to go on. They have lost a lot of personnel at Martins, Billy's boss, Jason, Todd, and I hear Titus has transferred to strictly maintenance. I am sure Billy's time has been limited. It will be interesting to see how things go this October.
Kyfrontiersman Posted - September 23 2007 : 10:34:57 AM
Thanks all for the good wishes.
Fitzhugh,
I doubt it, it's been a busy year with the presentations, and at this point, I think Nancy would take my scalp if I told her we're heading for the Powell Valley . Have you heard any more about Billy's wife?
Obediah,
LOL, yep, it's hard to put us old geezers under, ain't it? No matter what 'Light' says
Blackfootblood,
Love your signature, "Live well, love much, laugh often" true, but you forgot one thing for us old geezers, "talk much" I already do the others you have listed, but my dear wife who keeps me humbled says I talk way too much!!!!
Richfed,
Thank you so very much for the kind thoughts sir. I'd love to meet you on the trail someday, we'd have a good scout, I'm sure.
richfed Posted - September 23 2007 : 08:55:26 AM
Happy to hear that you are A-Ok, KFY!

Far be it for me to complain, but...

Well, at least you are still on the top side of the grass! Are you going to Martin's in a couple of weeks? I am hoping for a good one this year, maybe a little warmer than last years?
blackfootblood Posted - September 22 2007 : 10:13:52 AM
Yikes, Mike!!! Good to know your doing okay! Guess you were just exercising your guardian angel out! Good to see on the board!! Take care of yourself!

"That's Just Muggs Productions", http://www.douglaswjonesjr.com/TJMprod.html dwjonesjr@insightbb.com .

Sorry to be so long in getting back to you, been a busy couple months. 1st in appearances, then in life (LOL). We've had a time of it lately. First I was told I've probably got a heart blockage by the VA Doc. Then the next day we lost our brakes in the fast lane on 275 doing about 70 mph when the guys in front decided to hit brakes because they were tailgating each other. I just was barely able to miss them and pull into the medium and get it stopped about 50 feet from a bridge. Both of us were sweating profusely by then. Then 2 days after that my lawn tractor flipped over onto me, landing on my chest, but I feel OK, I think? Scheduled for a stress test this next Monday & a echogram in Oct., so hopefully we'll know something definite by then. Just been a BAD month so far you might say (LOL). But we're still kicking, can't complain about that I think? Starting to feel like I really ticked somebody off (LOL).

Well, this little injun is of dutch decent too and they definately like fashion trends. We'll call it the clashing of two worlds!

BTW, where do I get a copy of your DVD?
Kyfrontiersman Posted - July 18 2007 : 1:44:44 PM
stiletto mocassins is a new one in Kentucke. Certainly one this frontiersman has never seen?

Light of the Moon Posted - July 11 2007 : 6:58:03 PM
Sweet and war-like, huh?

Just teasin'! Thanks for the compliment. You're quite the actor, I know I've said it before but you do a great job!
Kyfrontiersman Posted - July 11 2007 : 12:54:05 PM
You just make me think of someone who likes war-paint
Just kidding 'Light', actually I thought you were a very sweet
lady who likes history & such. That's a good combo in my book.
Light of the Moon Posted - July 06 2007 : 9:25:28 PM
Oh, we're gonna' join alright. But we won't be available to make all the events.

Still wanting to do the war-paint idea you came up with.
Kyfrontiersman Posted - July 05 2007 : 10:15:38 PM
it's not really a great thing for us, but for kenton i hope. when we picked Simon & Squire to portray, we were trying to pick someone who did more than most folks realize, and yet very little was ever known about them. we're trying to bring some notariety to these men and to try and spark that interest in history again. i really think that's what every reenactor is trying to do, bring history alive to people who see us, and teach how it was for our ancestors, not that long ago. thanks again 'Light', and you know we're going to try and get you and your family to join our ranks (LOL).

This is just a great thing for you and your Mrs. I'm very happy for the both of you!

If it's anything like your performance at Grassy Run it will be good! Can't wait to see it!
Can you "John Hancock" a copy for me?
Kyfrontiersman Posted - June 29 2007 : 9:24:18 PM
As far as Mugg's comedy, I've seen some of it. If you've been in reenacting as long as Muggs & myself, over 30 years each, you'd know that sometimes the rules really get carried away! Muggs turns this into a hilirious comedy which shouldn't be offensive to anyone. Muggs has always had a great sense of humor, never knowing what he might say at any given time, and him having close to a genius IQ really sets me on alert at times. As far as our DVDs, we've tried to tell the life stories of two great frontiersmen (Boone & Kenton) which not much as really been written about. We feel that the use of first person portrayals is a wonderful tool in bringing history alive for young and old alike. We have performed at Fort Boonesborough, the Blue Licks Battlefield State Park, Constitution Square State Park in Danville, Ky., the Long Run Massacre reenactment by the Painted Stone Settlers in Shelbyville, Ky., Mansker’s Station in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, the Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous in Vincennes, In., the Fair at New Boston at George Rogers Clark Park in Springfield, Ohio for the GRCHA, at the Heritage Center of Clark County in Springfield, Ohio, and also at numerous schools, libraries, genealogical societies, historical societies, and museums across the Country.
