Posted - December 21 2004 : 07:55:04 AM There seems to be a high percentage of talented folks frequenting the board, so I thought I would post this contest information. It came from the January/Februrary issue of Poets & Writers Magazine:
Society of American Historians James Fenimore Cooper Prize
A prize of $2500 is given biennially for an historical novel on an American theme that "significantly advances the historical imagination." Publishers may submit novels published in 2003 or 2004 by January 31. There is no entry fee. Send an SASE or email for an application and complete guidelines. Society of American Historians James Fenimore Cooper Prize 603 Fayerweather MC 2538 Columbia University New York, NY 10027 (212) 854-5943 Ene Sirvet, Administrative Secretary es28@columbia.edu
It looks like you'd have to submit a book that's already been published, but I figured it might be a possibility ... good luck to any takers!
