Hi all,

just wondering if anyone has read 'In Search of Butch Cassidy' by Larry Pointer?

Am reading it at the moment and am finding it very interesting, the gist is that there is a possibility that he didn't die in Bolivia as the 'Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid' suggests... he went on to live in Washington and died in 1937.

lovely to hear from you! Send my best Liverpool wishes to your mum (Gruss dich).

We've just had the Matthew Street festival which is where the Cavern Club that you're speaking of is. It's a downstairs club - tiny but with big alcoves where the bands used to play and outside there is a wall with bricks that have all the names of the bands that used to play there - along with a bronze statue of John Lennon.
I've been a few times to the club it's ok - but probably not what you're mum remembers - they play S Club 7 and cheesey music there now - shame!
We've just been awarded the capital of culture for 2008 so there is a lot of development work going on - Liverpool needs it, the place has seen too much decay.

Maybe I could send you something of interest - if you think of something let me know. In the mean-time here's a link...

I love your site - which one are you - do you have a pic? I reckon if there was any reenactment stuff going on round here I'd have a go! I'm having a birthday do in Blackpool in December and me and a load of friends were hoping to go as saloon girls or the like!

The book is brilliant - you should definitely have a read if you can.
Not sure where dad got it from but I can ask for you.

My husband, being a bit of an Ol' West history buff, says that yes, that he believes that has been documented though he has never read the book you are speaking of. Maybe something for me to consider for Christmas since it's so difficult to find him anything anymore. We have an interest in the 1800's since we do Old West Reenactment. http://mojavemuleskinners.com

By the way, if I read your profile correctly, you're from Liverpool? Seriously? Ah, I'm sure you've gotten this before, but I'm a major Beatles fan. Wouldn't you know it, my mom was studying to be a nurse in Hamburg. (She's German). She remembers going to this "little club called the Cavaran" and seeing the Beatles. The only thing she ever said about it was that it was too loud and she couldn't hold a conversation. Can you believe it?
