Posted - February 22 2006 : 7:37:46 PM Plans have been made to fill in the original Music Bastion of Fort Pitt and cover it with a Frisbee field.Check out the story at www.paladincom.com and click on "Burying Pittsburgh's Past".(you can also learn about the first "sporting event" at Heinz Field before the Steelers arrived).
This decision was made by quasi-government entities without any input from the public. After all, they seem to think that they know what's best for us.
If anyone who is living in Pennsylvania(or even if you don't)and care about 18th century history, please contact your elected officials. It really does work.I'm also involved in the PAC to get a new arena built in Pittsburgh, and this has brought the Governor and his cronies to the table, when they would not have come otherwise.
Lastly, without Fort Pitt, there would've been no Pittsburgh, which was the last city to be built in the 18th century. |
