Hello,
Anyone know about the latest poop on the commemoration of the 250th of Braddock's defeat? I heard there was going to be a march of the Brits along the original Braddock's Road, etc. I'm curious if they found a spot to do the battle reenactment, yet.

Regards,
Jim

That reminds me of that one Lt.from Housing who said that he wanted to fly over the projects in a Cobra while playing Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries".I can just imagine his rotund frame squeezed into the cockpit with his fat little face peering out from behind the plexiglass.

Sarge,
That's right I want to do a Rev War grenadier, fur hat and all. Even though the F & I grenadiers are cool, too -- I can't abandon the French as of yet.

No problem Jim, a misunderstanding on my part.

You're right, Captain. Also the neighborhood is more dangerous than it was in 1755. I might want to swap the Long Land Pattern for something else from my gun room that is magazine fed, like one of my AR-15's or my M-14.

Jim, I think that the 64th Regiment that you speak of is primarily a RevWar unit. If you want a good F&IW British Grenadier Company, check out the 40th Regiment of Foote out of the Toronto & Montreal areas. They had a link on the Discriminating General's 'Seven Years War' Website, under 'Reenactment Units'. Give'em a shot, and let me know if it helps.

Thanks, it would be nice if they could find a spot fairly close to where it happened. I think I might go Native for this event(for the first time). To make the reenactment realistic, they'll probably need all the native reenactors they can get. I also think that I am going to start to put a Brit Grenadier kit together for Rev War. Does anyone have a contact number for the 64th Regt. of Foot? I have some questions I wanted to ask about doing a grenadier.

An update, Grenouille, I have contacted Bruce's people and they said that the plans for the '05 Braddock Campaign are in the works. I will forward you the particulars as I get them.

Good question Jim. I was planning on contacting Bruce Egli with just that question. If anyone would know, it would be him, since the town of Braddock is his stomping grounds and he is active in the Braddock Road Preservation Society, as well as he helps maintain the Braddock Room at the Braddock Branch of the Carnegie Library. I'll get back to you with some solid G-2 ASAP.
