OK lads and lasses, I got the message. Y'all wanted me and Pak to move our stories to a separate folder, soes they're easier to follow. Alrighty then, old Nut has 'erd ya, and am willin to obliege. Gosh, I dinna think there was that many of ya interested in me and Pak's stories, but I was wrong again. So I got Pak to give me the keys to 'is name, so I can move our respective past tales over to here.
Now, we would like to invite all the barracks boys, and any one else crazy enough, to tell their trail tales here. I just wanna say that we should stick to our time period, no talk of the evil, crooked Virginian in this folder, just good stories.

OBV sounds like fun.I wish that I could've gone with you guys last time instead of Fort Frederick.I'm going to call on the "Bombadier" and see what he is up to this weekend.I wouldn't mind leading the patrol to the Jean Bonnett meself. |

Will you two be accompanying our expedition to Old Bedford Village this weekend?Once there,I'd like to check out the Jean Bonnett Tavern and sample their ale.Some of the younger troops might be inclined to believe the ghost stories about the place.But I've heard horror tales of bad service and over priced victuals!Now that's scary. |

Awww Pak, your talkin' bout the time Crogan and I were at Logstown doin some trade, an you came up with that Weiser fella who was lookin to treat with the locals. You sure do take pleasure in embarassing me, alright then, but first I have to get a wee dose of the aged molasses.

Pax Aye, Nut!!! I also seem to recall that those two had a good laugh over it. We 'ad some good times over the years, and some close calls. We were together in '55 with General Braddock, you then went to Albany in '56, cause you heard that your cousin's regiment had arrived in the colonies, and even signed on with General Abercrombie for the '58 Crown Point Campaign. During that time, I was defend'n the frontier of Pennsylvania Colony and scouted for Colonel Armstrong and General Forbes. We didn't get together again till you arrived in early '59 with General Stanwix's force to build Ft. Pitt, just cause you figured to get a jump on the trade. All this time, nothin' compares to when we first met, do ya remember...

It t'was late summer of 1761, Six Pak and I were doin' some trade near Ft. Bedford with two of our least favorite customers. One was a Deleware named Wiagasksin, "Big Barn Smell" as he is known by the locals, and his pard the half-breed "Honey-dipper" so called because during the last French War he was known to hide in the outhouses of settlers homes. Well, anyways, Pak and I just finish gettin some squirrel pelts from these two, and were engaged in some post-business refreshment, when we started swappin' stories of our last couple of treks.
Wiagasksin, who is somethin of a traditionalist and only uses a bow, said that if'n it twasn't for our guns, the whites could never make it on the frontier. Pak stepped up an' said that ain't true, our ancestors used bow and arra's and there's even a story about it called "William Tell". Well both he and "Dipper" were real interested in hear'in the story, so Pak went ahead and told it to them. Once Pak had finished, Wigasksin said "This Tell, he sounds like a great warrior, but so am I!" "Dipper" also added "Oui, Wigasksin could do the same feat with his weapon." So Pak, bein' the good friend that he is says, "Well boys, if'n Wigasksin can shot this empty rum bottle off'n the top of 'Nuts head, you can have anything in the store." At this point, I 'ad been hitt'n the 'aged molasses' a wee bit much, and was a will'in to go along with anythin.
To make a long tale short, apparently Wigasksin had a wee bit too much to drink as well so it affected his aim, and by the time I awoke in the surgery of Ft. Bedford, Surgeon Glenn was a finishing fittin' my new eye patch.

Pax Aye, Nut! I do recall that my aim t'was a bit off that day, but If'n it twasn't for "Killmole's" vengeful fire, that chipmunk would've had the better of you. Of course, pard, I am sorry as to what happended to ye, but it was not the most 'barrassing time we ever 'ad. Remember the time we was doin' some trade near Ft. Bedford, back in '61. Now, my old spoonin' buddy, do ye want to relate the tale, or should I...

Aye Nut, to Cook we go! I would wish you'd quit crack'in on my rifle, "Killmole". You're just jellous, because with her I can hit a man at over 200 yards, whereas you're lucky to see one at that distance. "Killmole" and I are a famous team in these parts. Why every enemy savage slaps their behinds at me and laugh with fear upon our approach. I also seem to recall that my eagle eye and lighting skill with her saved your sorry hide on one occassion...

Pax Aye, lads, to Cook we go!!! What say you, Six Pak? Will ye gather your kit and bring your new fangled Lancaster Rifle? I'll be pack'in me seven shilling trade gun and some 'aged molasses'. His Lairdship, my cousin Duncan, is ordered by Captain Graham to be heading a patrol toward Fort Venango around the same time. So we can have 'im escort us a little further north, gawd knows the walk won't hurt him none. He 'as warned me to stay away from the young Private MacDougal, says I might give the pup wrongful advice.
